"There you are Lord Elrond. The wound should not bleed anymore, but if it happens to do so, please let me look at it." Elvedui took the bandages off of the Lord's neck, revealing a stitched together wound, but no more. The mirror across from the bed reflected the image of the Lord running his fingers over the sewn together gash in his neck.

"O-of course Master Elvedui. I will tell you straight away." Glorfindel stood next to Elrond with his hand on his shoulder. Elvedui bowed and left the two alone in the room together. Elrond was still running his hand over the unbandaged gash.

"Is is that surprising?" Glorfindel walked around to sit next to the Lord, watching him with curious eyes. He did not understand why Elrond was so interesed in the gash on his neck.

"I'm not sure. I suppose I thought that it would have been the end, that I wouldn't have to deal with anything anymore. That I could live in Mandos." Elrond looked over to see the Commander staring and brought his hand from his neck. "Now, I'm not sure if I should be happy or if I should try again."

Glorfinde had been expecting something, anything, different than what he had heard. He had hoped from Elrond to say how happy he was that he wasn't dead, and that they could be together. That he would never try again, but Glorfindel knew in his heart that Elrond wouldn't say anything of the like.

"I wasn't what you wanted to hear, was it?" The Commander looked up to see Elrond looking down at him. The Lord had seen right through him and Glorfindel didn't know if he could deny it. "You wanted something else."

"No. It was different than what I thought you might say-"

"You didn't think I would think about doing it again so soon?"

"I suppose." Glorfindel looked away to the door. "I was hoping for something about..."

"Us?" Glorfindel could feel the heat going to his cheeks, but he nodded. Elrond gave the Commander a simple smile before looking back to the mirror. "Well, I suppose you now have a chance to achieve whatever you wanted to, seeing as I'm not dead."

"For now." Elrond looked back in surprise. Glorfindel kept his head down. He was waiting for Elrond to tell him that it wouldn't happen, that they would always be together, that he would never try to do anything as deadly as he had before.

"I glad you understand." Glorfindel looked back wide eyed.

"Wait, what!?"

"I'm glad you aren't disillusioning yourself. This will never stop as long as I live. I will never stop trying to rid myself from it and well, you understand the rest don't you? I just... I didn't want to tell you."

"Well, now you don't have to." Glorfindel smiled through the pain that he felt. Elrond gave him a sad glace from the side. The Lord knew that the Commander would not take well.

"You don't have to be upset." Elrond slipped his hand into the hand of the other in the room. "I never said it would happen tomorrow."

"You never said it wouldn't happen tomorrow." Elrond chuckled lightly with a gleam of mirth in his silver eyes.

"You are more like me than anyone knows." Glorfindel looked down again. He didn't know if that was a good thing or not. "You think it's a bad thing, I don't."

"I just-" Glorfindel stopped in the sentence. He looked up to Elrond with teary eyes and laid his face in the Lord shoulder. "I just want to spend time with you, love you. I want more time than I will ever have."

"That's not true." Elrond brought Glorfindel's eyes up to him once again and smiled. "If we are together, who's to say that this will happen again? You said it yourself, you would have never left  if you had known. Now you know, now you know to stay. Now you know that I just can't deal with myself alone."

Glorfindel rubbed his eyes. "You think-?"

"I think that no matter what the others say, we will be fine. We survived the First Age of Beleriand, why can't we make it through this?"

"I didn't make it through the First Age." Elrond gave the Commander a serious look.

"You would have. I believe in you, believe in yourself. Isn't this what you wanted?" Glorfinde looked down to his lap. Sure, he wanted this with every fiber of his being. He wanted his closest friend to become more than a friend. That's what he wanted, yes, but what did his friend want?

"Do you want it?" The Commander thought he had not said it aloud, he did not want to hear the answer, for what if the Lord said no? What happened then?

"Do I? Well, I havn't decided yet. You have plenty of time to make me choose. To do that though, you have to want to." Glorfindel looked up to Elrond with most assuredly that he had the entire conversation.

"I want it. I want nothing other than this." He smiled to the Lord. "To be with you..."

Glorfindel let the silence sink in until Elrond turned back to his reflection. The Commander grabbed the Half-Elf by the collar of his robe and pulled him into a kiss. For once, Glorfindel felt like this could work. It didn't matter what had happened, now all that mattered was what was going to happen.

And Glorfindel intended to do as much as he could.

THE END!

I have been both dreaming and dreading this moment! I'm sorry guys, I said I would keep it going, but after a bit of a night to think and a bit of a day, I deiced to end this here, and begin it again in another book.

So, I guess we will have to wait and see about what these two do later. Oh well, I'm sure it woun't be long. And for my fans of male/male slash I have another one planned that isn't Elrond/Glorfindel. It's one that I have never heard of, but I thought of it, You'l have to wait to see what it is :3

Thank you, thank you, thank you! To everyone who had read, commented, or favorited. It means a lot to me!
