When I walked into the party, Sam's eyes found me right away. I took in his appearance and I felt weak in the knees. The sight of him taking big strides towards me wearing jeans that hung low on his waist but didn't sag and wearing a tight white tee shirt that outlined and defined each and every muscle made me think twice about my decision to ignore him. My heart did a few somersaults but I ignored them and made my way outside before Sam was close enough to approach me. It wasn't a mystery why I fell in love with him in the first place. He was gorgeous; but he wasn't mine anymore. Hands enveloped my waist from behind and my back was pulled against a hard chest.

"You look so hot" Tyler said in a raspy voice.

"You like it? It's new" I teased.

I ignored the fact that Sam was just inside; he had no claim on me. I pulled Tyler over to the side and gave him a kiss. His hands slid up the back of my neck and tangled into my hair. He tasted like beer. His hands found the tie on my bikini top and he started fumbling with it. I broke the kiss but I let my lips rest softly against his.

"Not outside, babe. There are people everywhere." He pressed his lips harder to mine.

"You make me crazy when you're dressed like that, Jade." I kissed him back. He would never be Sam but I would never have Sam again, so Tyler would have to do.

"When I bought this bikini, I knew you'd love it" I whispered.

He groaned "Can we go upstairs?" Saying yes crossed my mind but I knew I couldn't. Sam and I had had sex in this house and there was no way I was tainting that memory with Tyler. As much as it hurt me to think about it, I'd never ruin the memory.

"We just got here" I said "but later."

"I'm going to go play some pool then. If I stay here kissing you I won't be able to wait." I walked him inside to the pool table, got a drink and then I found Marcus.

"Hi. Nice bikini. Trying to impress someone?" he smirked.

"No. Shut up." I took a big gulp of my drink.

"Sam will appreciate that" he said. I shoved him. He laughed. "I'm kidding."

"I'm not talking to Sam tonight. If he's anywhere near me, I'm walking away" I told him.
"Just don't drink too much of that" he said as I take another gulp. "Or else you're going to be doing the opposite of walking away" he said.
"Why don't you try to find a cute girl or something?" I suggested. He slid his arm around my waist and began walking through the house with me.
"Because then I wouldn't be able to keep an eye on you" he said.

"I don't need you to keep-" I was cut off by the sudden motion of Marcus spinning me around to walk back in the direction we came.
"What?" I asked.
"Nothing" he answered as he continued pulling me the other way. "You just don't want to look over there. For your own good" he said.
I wrung my way out of his grip and turned around to see what this forbidden sight was. My heart jumped into my throat then dropped to the depths of my stomach. I blinked a few times, steadying my emotions. This shouldn't upset me. Not when I was over him. He couldn't affect me anymore. Not if I didn't let him. I turned my gaze away from Sam and Megan and tried to erase the image of her hand on his arm and his face just inches from hers as they smiled shamelessly at each other.
"That didn't bother me" I said taking a sip.
