Alia’s POV

“Ganyan ka ba talaga ka-cold?” Dominic asked.

“Huh?” I looked at him puzzled.

“You haven’t said a word since you entered my car.” He said half-smiling.

Sa kotse niya ako sumakay dahil ayaw naman ng magkasintahan na maki-hitch ako sa kanila dahil wala daw kasama tong isa.

“I just don’t want to lose my energy over nonsense talks.” Walang gatol kong hayag.

“Okay, so I’m nonsense?” he said at napatango.

I looked at him. He looked offended. Bigla naman akong nakaramdam ng guilt.

“I didn’t say you are nonsense. I said nonsense talks.” Depensa ko.

“That’s tantamount!” he muttered. Seriously ganito siya mag-isip? Sayang guwapo pa naman siya.

“That’s why a lot of people are misunderstood because we quote them wrongly.” I crossed my arms and looked outside the windows.

“That’s the problem with intelligent people. They speak highly intellectual and expect average people to understand them.”

I looked at him in disbelief. What? This man have the guts to talk to me this way?

“For the record, I didn’t misquote you because as far as I know if the person is not nonsense to you, whatever he says will never be senseless.” He added.

I was caught off guard. Siguro nga nakakainsulto yung sinabi ko. I just kept quiet.

Tahimik din siyang nagdrive. After few moments, he dialed on his phone.

Lionelle, di na kami makakasama ni Alia. Inaantok na daw kasi siya.” Saad niya sa cellphone. I looked at him puzzled. Natahimik siya saglit. Siguro ay nagsasalita si Lionelle sa linya.

“Yes! Don’t worry, man! Ihahatid ko siya pauwi.” Saad nito.

Is he mad at me? Kaya naisipan niyang ihatid na lang ako. Shocks!

“Okay!” he said bago ibinaba ang phone. I looked at him. Nakatutok na ulit siya sa daan.

“What was that conversation?” I asked.

“Wag na tayong sumama don makakaistorbo lang tayo sa kanila. You’ll just spend your energy over nonsense pag tumuloy tayo.” Sagot niya. Tiningnan ko siya ng mataman. Hindi naman siya mukhang galit or nagtatampo.

“Eh, saan tayo pupunta?”

“We’ll go to a place where we can use your intelligence productively.” He chuckled.

Di ko alam kung bakit ako nakahinga ng maluwag nang mahimigan kong di siya galit.

Di ko din alam kung bakit di man lang ako ninenerbiyos na dadalhin niya ako kung saan samantalang kakakilala lang namin.
