"I'm sorry, Moreau, you failed your psych evaluation. I cannot allow you to continue here at the BAU. You hold an extreme amount of defiance and danger within you, I cannot have you jeopardising my unit like that. Do you understand?" Cascade simply nodded at the man who she admired, stand before her. "You are a great agent, very capable, and a great asset to this team, Moreau, don't let my words change your belief in that. You have been through quite extensive trauma, and have now become slightly reckless. You were complexly impetuous on that last case, and several beforehand. You are an incredible agent, one with great possibilities in their future, just not here. I wish you the best, Cas. I truly do, you have a week left here at the BAU."

The week passed in a haze. Cascade had decided to simply step back from the field, spending her week with Garcia, who, in fact, made it quite enjoyable. Her bubbly, playful personality brought so much joy to the younger woman who had received her ass on a silver platter. A psych eval. Life-ruiner. She resented her boss for not believing in her, not giving her a second chance as he would have so clearly done with Reid, or Morgan. Maybe it was because she was a woman, and Hotch had a knack for the lack of trust he disposed of in women. Men were more his comfort area, which she totally understood, but sometimes you have to take a leap.

With her goodbyes said and left exposed for the world to relish, Cascade Moreau left the Behavioural Analysis Unit for the Joint Terrorism Task Force.

A new era.

A fresh start.

One with no past to haunt her dreams.
