Full title: I wish I could hear you voice, I bet it sounds beautiful right now

Ship: No ship (all though low-key ot7 but could be read as platonic - Harry centric)

Summary: Deaf!Harry gets mocked by some asshole when they see him signing to the others.

Setting: London, no specific location in mind when I write this.

Warnings: Ableism, just people being assholes. Panic attacks.

Disclaimer: I am not deaf. So obviously I have no idea what it's like for people who are, I have done some research before writing this but if anything is incorrect please let me know so I can fix it!

It was going to be an awful day.

Harry knew this before he'd even gotten out of bed.

And on days like this he'd rather just stay there and not have to get up and go to filming, especially when it was a video in public.

Those were the bain of his existence.

(This one wasn't too bad. Another food challenge. But still, it sucked).

It didn't help that his alarm clock, an extra loud one with a built in bed vibrator (which is not nearly as kinky as it sounds) that's supposed to shake his bed to wake him up, didn't go off.

Or maybe it did but it's loud and Cal loves his sleep so it's very much plausible that Cal came in and turned it off without waking him up.

The asshole.

He was almost half an hour late to meet the guys.

Then, to make his already shitty day worse, he dropped his hearing aids (he's not quite sure how) and stepped on them like the idiot he is. He was praying that they would still work when he put them back in.

They didn't.

Because apparently Harry had done something to personally upset god and now the guy had it out for him.

Which means that Harry was going to have to sign all day, not trusting his volume at all without his hearing aids.

It also meant that the others would have to sign too. Making this video ten times harder to film and edit then it needed to be.

He could always just read lips, pretend that he can actually hear them, although it would mean avoiding talking to Josh because he spoke way too fast and Harry wasn't all that good at lip reading.

So maybe he should just tell them that he can't hear, cut out the middle man.

When he did, eventually, turn up at the meeting spot, he saw Jj yell something in greeting that Harry didn't quite catch with his really-not-that-great lip reading.

He smiled, in return and hoped that was an appropriate response.

It was, kind of. Expect Jj has asked him why he was late and Harry had just blanked him.

This was going to be a long day.

The others had caught on pretty quick that Harry could barely hear a thing, - he had heard the bass, and the drums, of the band in one of the restaurants they had stopped at (it was more of a vibration then actual sound, but still, it made him smile)- they reassured him again and again that it was fine.

He felt bad about it anyway.

He could feel someone staring at him.
