"STAY HERE, I DON'T WANT YOU gettinghurt," obi-wan placed a comforting hand on nova's shoulder, stopping her from moving any further. her eyebrows furrowed in frustration "i can help, i'm not as helpless as it seems," she countered trying to move out of his grasp. "yes, i'm quite sure of that darling but count dooku is not another bounty," he reasoned causing her deflate.
she rolled her eyes and groaned in frustration "fine, but if i hear any major trouble i'm coming in," obi-wan went to spoke but anakin's persistent chatter coming from the platform made him sigh in defeat. he sent her a reassuring smile taking a step back to leave. before he could she grabbed his hand giving it a small squeeze and placing a kiss on his cheek - "be careful kenobi," she spoke softly barely above a whisper. he nodded before leaving nova alone on the transport. the lightsabers being ignited as they ran towards the entrance while nova stood anxiously spinning her dagger round her finger.
she paced back and forth in the shuttle, the two clones looking back every so often as the brunette waited nervously for the two jedi to come back out with count dooku hopefully. unlike the jedi she was close to, nova lacked patience and decided against obi-wan's wish she walked slowly towards the entrance despite her internal debate.
as she got closer to the door, she grabbed her gun from the holster holding it up defensively. her steps sped up when she heard anakin yell in pain. she ran through the entrance to see obi-wan and count dooku duelling intensely while anakin lay in pain at the far side. while running over to anakin she squeezed the trigger a few times distracting the sith lord. before dooku could switch his focus onto the ex-bounty hunter, obi-wan took the opportunity to get a one up on him.
"master kenobi, you disappoint me. yoda holds you in such high esteem." count dooku spoke, walking closer while obi-wan kept his guard up awaiting the next attack. nova studied anakin's face which held a painful expression, she sighed feeling useless watching over the padawan while obi-wan fought with all his might against dooku. finally anakin moved, groaning loudly nova's hand went under his head helping him sit up with concern written on her face.
despite the bad first impressions, nova had a lot of respect for the young jedi and hoped that their relationship could continue to improve knowing how much his master cared for him. "are you alright?" she asked quietly and got a small nod of a yes before standing up ready to spring into action.
when she looked back over to the current duel she seen they were in a stand still, lightsabers pressed against one another the red and blue clashing. dooku unfortunately overpowered obi-wan and pressed the weapon against obi-wan's leg causing a sharp yell of pain and then another hit on his arm causing him to fall in pain. just as count dooku raised the red lightsaber, nova let another blast out from her gun, it had just missed his arm as she was shaking from rage and fear combined which the three force users could feel strongly.
he turned his attention to the brunette who was breathing heavily, she shot another few blasts which dooku deflected effortlessly with his crimson light saber. he walked closer to the ex-bounty hunter and swung his lightsaber at her which she just managed to dodge, while he was busy trying to attack her, she grabbed her small dagger that she retrieved from the acklay's eye during the battle. with a hard throw it had lodged itself into his shoulder causing yell of pain to leave his lips.
with a roll of his eyes clearly annoyed and unimpressed by her efforts he ripped the dagger out of his shoulder throwing it to the ground with a loud clatter. raised his hand up and nova let out a gasp, clawing at her throat gasping for oxygen as she felt her airways tighten and her feet being lifted off the ground. it was getting harder to cope with the lack of oxygen, "brave girl you are but quite stupid," dooku mused dully but she could barely make it out from the loud pulsing of her heart in her ears and the black spots invading her vision.
she felt her body fly across the room, her back hitting the wall harshly. almost immediately nova fell unconscious her vision getting cloudy very quickly, the last thing she could hear was obi-wan call her name.

obi-wan sat nervously in the medical bay of the cruiser watching the droid apply a bacta bandage to his wounds, watching nova sleep peacefully on one of the beds. a nasty bruise was forming on her right temple from were she had been thrown, her hair dishevelled and a few beads of sweat sitting on her head. "thank you," he spoke quietly before the medical droid left the bay leaving obi-wan to stare worriedly at nova.
the jedi moved closer, grasping her hand and pushing stray strands of her dark hair away from her face. she looked serene, as if she had no cares in the world despite the war that was starting to rage. nova's hand slowly began to wrap itself round obi-wan's larger hand, her head lulled to the side her eyes opening slowly meeting his gaze. she gave him a weak smile before pushing herself up so her head leaned against the wall.
"did you get him?" she asked softly still holding his hand. he shook his head, a small smile appeared, "never mind that darling, are you alright?" there was sincerity in his voice, she brought her hand up, caressing his cheek before running a soothing hand through his beard. "i'm fine kenobi but i take it you didn't catch him," he sighed shaking his head leaning further into her touch.
they were quiet for a few seconds, each other's presence bringing comfort after the tiring events they had just went through. she leaned up, pressing her lips against his softly, shutting her eyes in desperation. his hand ran through her dark hair, bringing her closer. they moved in sync, the kiss becoming more rougher until nova pulled away. "i'm sorry, i can't," she whispered, her eyes refusing to meet his own blue ones. his eyebrows furrowed in confusion and ran the pad of his thumb over her cheekbone comfortingly.
"what's wrong?" he whispered back concern evident. "this is too dangerous for you, i won't let you risk your position in the temple for me," she mumbled quickly, her eyes filling with tears shaking her head strongly. "i would risk anything for you darling, i have faced far more dangerous things than this," he tried to reassure her but she was adamant that the bond they had created so quickly would end badly for both of them. obi-wan felt her uneasiness, and did his best to sooth her by running a hand through her hair.
nova finally met his gaze, a single tear escaped her eyes as she tried to stop the sob from coming out. "listen to me nova, we can deal with the repercussions later, i don't know what i would've done if something worse happened to you and i couldn't tell you that i love you," once the words left his mouth, she immediately pulled him back into a kiss, full of longing and pain while her tears began to flow freely.
"i love you obi-wan,"
