I couldn't believe it. It was her. Stood in-front of me. Her breathing was heavy from running and it took her a second to realise who she was with.

"I- I have to go." She stutters. She begins to open the door but I close it.

"Viper talk to me. You at least owe me that after all this time." I say and she stops. She lets out a small breath and turns around.

"Fine. But please not here." She whispers.

"Why not? Is it because you can't leave me if I'm awake?" I feel awful as soon as I say it and I see the shock in her eyes but she keeps a straight face.

"That's not fair." She sighs.

"Well, neither was leaving with no goodbye." I say. And she walks over to the window.

" you have no idea the hell I've gone through Draco. I had to leave and if I said goodbye I never would've left." I can hear the crack in her voice.

"But why did you have to leave." I ask holding her shoulders.

"Because they were going to kill me!" She yells and I can see the fear in her eyes. I hate it. I want to hold her and protect her.

My beautiful, happy and strong Viper was gone. Instead she was scared, tied and fragile. I wanted to hunt down whoever was doing this to her. Then before I can ask there's a knock in the door and she tenses.

"No Draco please let me go. I'll meet you tomorrow in secret or anything just please trust me and let me go." She whispers. And I sigh.

"Fine. Meet me tomorrow morning down by the stables. No ones ever there. I'll buy you some time." I see her ease slightly.

"Thank you." She says as she opens the window. But before she leaves she hesitates. She turns around with tears. "Enjoy your party. I'm glad you moved on." I hear the sadness in her voice. And before I can say anything else she climbs out the window and runs skilfully along the roof till she disappears.

It's clear she's been doing this for a long time and a part of me breaks. This whole time I've thought she abandoned me. Now I know she had no choice.

Then it hits me. She's just found out I'm engaged but she doesn't know it's not to a person I don't love.

I have to explain it to her tomorrow. I have so many questions and so much to tell her.

Of course security breaks the door and I turn around to face them.

"What's wrong with you people. Get out." I say and watch as they cowardly run out.

The rest of the party carried on and I waited a while just to keep up appearances before telling my mother I wasn't feeling well. Which wasn't a complete lie. After seeing Viper so many emotions had come up that I felt exhausted.

So then I managed to get out of the rest of the party and just stay in my room.

I spent the whole night laying in bed thinking back to the first time I actually met Viper.

I'd been sorted into Slytherin and we were all going back to the common room. When the door opened the older kids all stopped and we were all so confused.

"Who are you?" One of them said. I hadn't cared much to learn they're names.

"Names Viper Morgan's. Also your password is way to easy to guess." I looked past the others and there she was. She was in the same year as me and it was her first day and yet she'd gotten in all by herself.

"What's your house?" One of the others said. And she rolled her eyes.

"Slytherin you idiot." Her English accent was so strong back then. Now it's kind of more subtle.

She was the craziest person I'd met back then.

Then later on whilst I was unpacking she came and sat on my bed.

"So what's your deal?" She asked. I'd never had someone talk to me like that. I liked it.

"What do you mean?" I asked a little baffled.

"Well your in here alone unpacking while at everyone else is downstairs." I she asked.

"People don't tend to like me cause of my family." I said.

"Well I don't know who you are. So tell me who are you?" I spent the rest of the day with her just talking. She turned out to be really nice and we quickly became friends.

She turned out to be one of the best at potions and spells right after Hermione of course. Though she still wasn't a good girl. She used her skills to cause mischief and it was one of the things I loved most about her.

*present time*

Now I just have to wait till tomorrow.

I wake up early and head down to the stable were I'm greeted by one of the workers.

"Good morning Mr Malfoy. To what do we owe the pleasure." There was a very subtle bitterness to her voice.

"I'm looking for someone. They're supposed to meet me here. Her names Viper -" before I can finish her eyes widen.

"She's ummm... looking after one of the dragons." She says nervously.

"Could you show me to her then." I ask politely as she squirms nervously.

"Ummmm no." Then before I can ask why she looks up I look at where she looking and see her. She's flying.... Flynn! She still has Flynn after all this time? He's huge since I last saw him.

She lands not to far away and I hear the other one yell "Viper no one of the... people are here." Viper looks over with a slight alarm but when she sees me she eases.

I watch her effortlessly jump down and walk over to us.

"It's ok Elena. He knows Flynn." She laughs and I look at Flynn. He's changed so much. But still has that same look as if to say "I'm watching you".

Come on you two follow me since you have so many questions. She leads Flynn in after her and we follow them.

My hearts pounding. I can't believe it's actually her and not just another dream.

I just hope she's still the same girl I fell in love with years ago.
