When I woke up I went downstairs to the living room where my father and mother were sat. I've been avoiding them most of the time I've been back because they keep wanting to talk about making the engagement work.

So when they called me down today I just gave up and decided to hear them out. But when u went downstairs their eyes were both fixed on the TV which was unusual for them as I only recently found out they actually know how to use it. 

So I looked at the tv and it was only the news. But then I saw the story.

"Today is the ten year anniversary of not only the disappearance of Hogwarts student Viper Morgan's but recently it was also released that it's the ten year anniversary of her Father Steven Morgans' Coma." The news reporter says.

Coma?! She never told me this.

"It's such a tragic story what happened to them." I hear my mother sob. They don't know I'm in the room yet.

"Today the searches for the missing student were officially called off and Viper Morgans has been presumed dead. A tragic day for those who knew her. Now are thoughts go out to her father and friends. It's hoped that Mr Morgans wakes up soon but there's no likelihood that this will happen. That's all for now." The report ends and I have to remind myself to stay calm knowing I know she's alive.

"Draco?" My mother gasps as she sees me.

"From the look on your face I'm guessing you saw all of that." My father says.

"How could they just give up on her like that!" I have to make it seem like I don't know that she's ok so that my parents don't become suspicious.

"It has been 10 years Draco." My mother frowns.

"10 years or not she's got to be out there. They can't just do that. It's not fair. Her... what about her father?" I ask. I'm starting to believe myself at this point.

"Sweetheart calm down. You just got your life together after this. No need to go throw yourself back in." She says.

"I agree. Viper is a thing of the past. Sabrina is the future for you draco." My dad says.

"No, enough. You two and this stupid engagement. Just because you weren't a fan of Viper for some reason isn't my problem. I loved her and you know what I still do." I yell.

"Draco you don't even know the first thing about that family." My mother snaps.

"And you do?!" I hiss.

"Yes. They've got no heritage, they have no power and they're reckless and secretive." My father says.

"Oh wow, not normal people who have fun and have a few secrets." I say sarcastically.

"Draco what's gotten into you?" My mother says.

"My love for that girl, that's what. It's been missing but now that it's back, I'm not letting go." I say before I storm off.

*14 years ago*

"Miss me mini Malfoy." Was the first thing Viper said to me when we came back for our second year.

"Go on then how long were you thinking of that one." I sigh.

"The whole train ride." She smiles then bounces off to go see her other friends.

"Is or me or did she get prettier over the summer." I hear Crabbe say as he practically drools over her.

"Shut up." I hiss before we walk off.

Later on in the common room she comes over to me.

"Viper? You alright?" I asked calmly.

"I'm... confused." She half heartedly laughs.

"What about?" I ask.

"I heard some of the boys joking that u had a crush on me." She squirms a little.

"What? Would that be a bad thing?" I ask as I crossed my arms.

"Not if i maybe had a crush back." She shrugged then bit her lip.

"Well then in which case maybe you'd like to go on a secret date with me, you know just to try it out." I said. She thought about it the grind at me.

"Ok then Malfoy, you have a deal." She said before she walked off so casually. How does she do that.

After that date things started to pick up for me and Viper. It wasn't long till I was asking her to be my girlfriend.

*present time*

I still didn't understand why she never told me about her dad or her family so I tried to search them but found almost nothing. The only thing i found was an old news paper article.

There was a picture of an 8 year old Viper being held by her dad. Then I saw the woman in the hospital bed. It was her mother. She looked so ill.

Then I read the title.

'Morgans family left with only a grieving father and daughter.'

Whilst it's not known exactly what happened it was known that Rose Morgans was ill for a long time.

But after a sudden break in on the family home she was left seriously wounded.

Police said that when they turned up her daughter was holding her mother crying as she pulled off the curtains to stop the blood.

It was said that she didn't trust the officer to come near her or her mother unless her father was home.

Fortunately though he had already been on his way back.

Rose was then rushed to hospital but soon her wounds were just to bad and she passed away singing her daughter her lullaby for the last time.

Police believe the young daughter who was only 8 was protected by her mother in the attack. She seemed to of been hidden under the table but saw everything. So when police arrived she was scared whoever it was was back to get her or finish her mother.

Now she's been left motherless as an investigation is carried out to find the killer. However, Steven Morgans announced he and his daughter would be moving to a secure new location and nothing about they're family would ever be realised publicly without his approval.

I look away almost speechless.

I never knew she'd lost her mum. She used to speak about her all the time. But now that I think about it she'd sometimes slip into the past tense when she spoke about her.

But I'd never realised.

Suddenly her trust issues and round clingyness made sense. She was afraid she was just good at hiding it.

I was about to find her when I heard a low growl. Then something hit the manor cause it to shake and I nearly lost my balance. I ran out the the balcony where my parents also seemed to be only to see the largest and angriest dragon I'd ever seen growling directly at us.
