"Potter?" I say calmly.

"Hello Malfoy. What brings you here?" He asks calmly.

"We were looking for a girl called Viper." Elena says.

"Come in." He says as he moves to let us in.

"Malfoy?" I hear Ron growl slightly till Hermione hit him in the stomach and smiled. Whilst I remained confused as we'd all patched things up and there was no feud any more.

"She's through there." Hermione said as she pointed to the living room.

There she was. Lying there asleep. I saw the stitches on her arms and her forehead and all the bruises were starting to show. Her arm was in a sling which made my heart ache a little.

I heard a cough from behind me and turned around to see Ron gesturing for me to follow him into the kitchen with the others.

So I did.

"What the hell?!" Ron yells out of no where as soon as the door closes.

"What are you on about?" I ask still confused.

"Your engaged?" Harry says and I sigh.

"Yes. but there's nothing I can do ok. Its all arranged." I say defensively.

"Then why are you here Malfoy? Your about to spend the rest of your life with another girl and yet you've come here to your ex who's already cried her eyes out because all she wants is for you to have a good life. But she doesn't want to stay around to watch it be rubbed in her face everyday." Hermione explains. she's been crying? I've rarely ever seen her cry, now it seems like just the mention of my name brings her to tears. and I hate it.

"Well she's about to really hate me." I sigh.

"Why?" Potter says as he raises an eyebrow at me and crosses his arms.

"We lost Flynn." I sigh. Though they look like they've seen a ghost which seems a little over the top.

"You what?" My eyes widen in shock as I turn around and see Viper stood behind me.

"Viper I'm-" she cuts me off.

"What? You're sorry? What sorry that you moved on to engage a girl you don't even like and yet you're willing to let go of one you said you did love. or sorry for breaking every last bit of hope that I've ever had of seeing you again or absolutely shattering my heart. Or the fact that ever since you came back into my life you have done nothing but hurt me, and now you have gone and lost the one thing that I cherish just as much as I used to cherish you. You lost my dragon, because he.... he was mine. how much do you have to take? you take my heart, you take my edge, you take my strength, you take my memories, and now you lose my dragon." I can see the pain in her eyes and I feel terrible. but what she said next shook me. she looked me right in the eye and said flatly. "I hate you."

she then just stormed out. I let out a long defeated sigh. She was right. I'd taken so much from her. Maybe a part of me was still angry that she'd left and was using the engagement as an excuse to stop myself from getting hurt.

not anymore.

"Potter, Weasely and Granger, grab your brooms we're looking for a dragon." I said and they all look at each other and nodded.

We set off quickly and came up with a tac tic to cover the most ground. I wouldn't go back till I found Flynn. We started with diagon Alley, then over to Rons families old house, then we went to the ministry of magic.

Then when we ran out of ideas we went all the way to Hogwarts. the chances of Flynn even remembering this place though seemed slim. We even searched the forbidden forrest. but still nothing.

"We've looked everywhere and he's still not here." Ron said as he started to get more and more frustrated.

"Maybe we should of brought Viper, she and Flynn do have a special bond after all." Hermione said.

"No, this was Draco's mess he should fix it." For once I actually agreed with Potter.

Then I heard it.

"Flynn." I immediately took off running. Of course Hogsmeade. It was Flynns favourite place as it was the only place he and Viper could openly play and train in the open without the teachers seeing.

I ran to where I could hear him and sure Enough I found him. Only this time he looked sad. the other three quickly came running up behind me.

"THATS FLYNN?! HES HUGE!" Ron yelled in disbelief.

"He's an adult dragon Ron, remember the side of the dragon Harry faced in the Goblet of fire." Hermione said.

"Oh don't remind me." Potter said with a shiver.

I started to very slowly edge towards him, careful not to spook him.

"Flynn?" I whispered, his head moved so that he was looking directly at me and I swallowed hard. "its me. Draco, remember? I used to date Viper." He let out a low growl. "Okay I get you may not like me at the moment. if I'm honest I'm not sure I like me very much at the moment. But Viper, she loves you with all her heart. I know you got agitated cause you didn't get to fly in the morning. But it was because a very bad person was hurting Viper." His face softens and he lets out a soft purr. "Hate me all you want Flynn but please, come back to Viper. She doesn't deserve to be sad. so please Flynn come back with us." he doesn't move and I sigh. 

Ive failed. I turn back to see the others. they all look just as defeated as I feel. then I hear Flynn stand up and let out another loud roar. He starts to flap his wings and we all have to rush to our brooms so that we can guide Flynn to Viper as he won't know where she is or when he's going.

It actually didn't take that long till we got back Ron and Hermione's. As soon as we were all back on the ground Flynn lets out a little mini roar and suddenly Viper opens the door.

As soon as she sees Flynn her face lights up and I see the same look in Flynn eyes.

"Flynn!" she yells excitedly. He rushes over to her and lets her climb up his nose and onto his back where she hugs his around his neck and tickles him.

"Don't ever scare me like that again.!" She yells and I see Flynn slightly cower. "Ugh why do you have to be so cute." She says before she slides down one of his wings and walks over to me.

"So was this your doing?" She asks.

"Sort of, I had help though." I said pointing to the others. Then she kisses me on the cheek. It's only quick though not like she used to.

"Thank you. Maybe I don't hate you as much though you still have a lot to either fix or figure out." She says.

"I know. I have to go home and sort some things out but would it be alright if I visited in a few days time?" I ask. She thinks about it for a little while.

"Fine but you get one chance Malfoy. Ince chance and if you screw it up I'm gone for good." It was weird hearing her call me Malfoy. She only called me that is she was really mad. Not that I blame her.

"By the way Elena went home." She says before she walks off with the others inside.

Whoops.

By the time I get home it's nighttime. I shuffle in and I'm greeted by my family.

"Where have you been Draco?" My father says.

"I was out with friends." I shrug.

"Again?" My mother asks.

"Yes again." I say.

"But you had plans with Sabrina." My dad says.

"No she made plans I chose not to follow. Just like how you made plans to make me marry her and now I'm choosing not to follow them. Goodnight." And with that I left.
