Happy Birthday

~*Flashback*~

"Happy Birthday Mum!"

"Here open the present I got you" she said as she passed the older woman a gift bag.

The older woman opened the bag smiling happily as she looked down at what she had been gifted.

"I love it!" she said smiling down at the young girl fondly before giving her a hug.

"Look it's got my birthday on and the one I'm wearing has your birthday, we're matching!" she said grinning goofily as she held up the necklace she was wearing.

"Help me put it on" the older woman replied, turning around so the younger girl could attach the clasp at the back.

"There you go!, Oh and watch this, it's got a cool part!" she said, making the older woman turn around before the younger girl pressed down on her necklace causing the older woman's necklace to glow.

"Wow!" the older woman beamed repeating the action watching the younger girls necklace glow.

"I'm glad you like it" she said smiling.

"I love it" she replied, correcting the girl, smiling.

"Happy birthday Mum"

Erin's Thoughts/Memory:

I was nine when I got her that necklace, my Grandma had told me she'd pay for whatever I wanted as a treat for helping her for the past couple of weeks when I was visiting her, at first I was going to get myself some chocolate before I spotted two necklaces in an old shop window and immediately asked my Grandma if I could have them. She kindly agreed and I hadn't noticed until months after that the two dates on the coins on the necklace correlated with my Mum and I's birthday.

I was so excited when I figured it out, so excited that I wrapped the one up that had my birthday on and put it in a gift bag, as a present for my Mum, even though it was only February.

The woman in the shop when my Grandma bought them had shown me that the opposite necklace glowed when you pressed your finger on them, which made me even more excited.

When I gave the second necklace to my Mum, we promised each other that we'd never take them off.

And we kept that promise.

Until I was taken and brought to The Dome, both necklaces now around my neck...

Erin's POV:

I had walked out of the room a blanket wrapped around my body as I approached the only room I knew I could see her again in.

My Mum's birthday was really the only time I ever came in here, that and when I was in desperate need of being alone away from Cody and her nonstop nonsense she spoke.

I walked into the S room, buzzing my pass and selecting the memories I wanted to see, before sitting down in the middle of the room as the surroundings transformed into the memories I had selected.

The room had changed and I now watched as my Mum stood in front of me shouting at me, demanding to tell her whether I'd eaten the sweets she had bought earlier. I smiled chuckling at the memory before my Mum herself started to laugh and held me in a tight embrace.
