The Dome.

Mum

Erin's POV:

It opened slowly, and my Mum's warm, loving face was revealed.

Erin's Mum: "I've told you before and I'll tell you again I'm not interested in hearing about any of your shitty campai-" she shouted out before her eyes focused on my face and her eyes widened in shock.

Seconds pass, my brain taking her in, struggling to comprehend that she isn't one of the simulations I watched for four years, that she is real. My brain can't formulate a thought, at least not one based in any language, and I feel that if I don't make any contact soon my atoms will tear themselves apart. How the ground between us is erased I'll never recall, but one moment we are apart and the next we are morphed into a single being. The warmth of her body meets my cold skin, giving me hope like she always did before we were taken away from each other. Both of her arms clasp around my body, holding me so tightly that I'm not sure if she will ever let go. But I'm not sure if I'd want her too. With each second more in each other's embrace tears fall, tears neither of us wipe away. After so many years we have been apart just by being held in her arms I feel safe. I can't stop the smile creeping up on my face as I hold onto her tightly, a warm genuine feeling surging through my body that words could not describe.

I had never particularly hated hugs when in The Dome with the others. In my friends arms I felt safe and happy. I felt loved and appreciated. But I never realised these feelings until being captured in the embrace of the woman who I idolised.

My Mum.

Slowly we pulled away from each other, tears still flowing down our faces as my mother stood back and took both my hands staring at me with a massive smile on her face before I saw her eyes flicker over to the side and confusion came across her face before a smile returned. I looked at her quite confused as to what she was smiling about before turning around to see the rest of the group who were slightly crying and looking nervous. Cody was wrapped in Yoongi's embrace as she looked at my Mum and I with tears flowing down her face, Yoongi kissing her temple and rubbing his hands up and down her arm.

My Mum slowly walked over to Cody who was let go by Yoongi, though I'm sure he didn't want to. I followed my Mum before seeing her wrap her arms around Cody who returned the gesture. The rest of our group watched on as my Mum rocked back and forth with Cody telling her how much she had missed us both. I carried on watching, tear stains on my cheeks from crying before I found myself in Taehyung's embrace.

Taehyung: "You look like her" he whispered to me which caused me to let out a light laugh.

Erin: "I've missed her so much" I said sniffling whilst hugging Taehyung back who held onto me tighter.

Taehyung: "It's clear she's missed you too" he said smiling as he pressed his face into my shoulder, rocking us back and forth before a cough disrupted us.

TD: "Not to be rude, but I need paying for the ride, I don't want to disrupt but I need to be going, so if someone could pay me cash that'd be nice" he said before my mother walked over to the taxi.

Erin's Mum: "Here" she said, placing what I took to be her phone over his little machine before he nodded and thanked her then pulling out of the street and driving away.

Erin: "Mum can we all come inside?" I asked her nervously.

Erin's Mum: "Of course you can come in silly, come on all of you get inside before you catch a cold" she said as she ushered us inside.
