So, I decided to write more sibling angst, and I wanted to write something that reflects on women and the world we live in right now.

Please make sure that you read the TW a few times, making sure you want to read this. By reading past the bold writing, you've confirmed you are okay with reading this and I cannot to anything more. Although no actual proper words were said about the matter, I still want to add it as someone suggests that in this story.

Kai is 13, and Nya is 11.

~~~
"Please Nya, p-please.." Kai begged, kneeling down next to his 11 year old sister who was sat *shaking* on the dining table chair. He attempted to get down into her level to reassure her, but it seemed to not work.
Nya held her hair in a certain way that tried to hide her tears. The girls very long hair did play a big part in helping her hide her emotions, however when it's getting to the point of not even wanting to tell her own brother what's bothering her anymore. It's heartbreaking to say the least.
Kai sighs and grabs the smaller's hand gently, making them jolt slightly and look into their own eyes, as the physical comfort was unexpected from her brother at this age..or any age if you have no parents.
"You have to tell me what's wrong." He mutters, trying to get her long hair out of her face so he could see if she was crying or not. And indeed she was, however very silently.
Again, the younger sibling didn't respond, and instead tried to shuffle away from the older, clearly starting to become ansty. Which is something you wouldn't see her do.!
All of this and that wasn't like Nya at all. She never usually acted like this, and when the girl got home after visiting a shop down the road, she has not been the same since she had left.
Kai let go of her hand, immediately feeling his worries rise. He obviously did not want to make his little sister uncomfortable or even more upset, but at another hand, he wanted— no, *needed* to know what was bothering her. He wanted to help her, and make sure that if she was hurt, that person would get a right smack.
"Shh, I'm sorry." He apologises, know resorting to kneeling by the chair and trying to get her to confess from a comfortable distance.
Nya goes still and silent for a few minutes, as if she was thinking of what to say.
But before she didn't verbally communicate with her brother, she gestured for him to hold her hand. Kai nods and grabs it, trying his best to be here for her.
"I-I..." Her eyes watered again.
Kai didn't want to rush her, so instead he listened.
"I-I'm scared." She admits.
Kai loves her hair behind her ear to hear her better. "You're scared?" He repeats, raising an eyebrow. Concern was how his main emotion, what was up with her?
"I-I'm scared that one day I-I'm gonna go out on my own and-and someone's gonna try to.."
Kai hushes her softly. "Shh," He mutters in a soft tone, just like he did when the two were much you get children. "That won't happen." He confirms. "I promise."
Nya bites her lip and and lets a few more tears quickly roll down her face. "B-Because it..it happened to me today." Her confession was squeaky and quiet, as if she was frightened one what Kai was going to say.
And this was the moment that Kai first ever felt his blood boil.
However, he kept his cool, for now. "Who did?" His voice had a frustrated-monotone ring to it as the question was asked.
However, the furious teen did not get a verbal answer that he had hoped for so he could 'have a talk' with someone who hurt his baby sister.
But, as I said, Nya doesn't respond and instead stands up and walks into the kitchen, leaving a confused, angry and extremely worried Kai to follow along a few seconds after, wondering what she is going to do in here. He hopes that she will retrieve some food.
Nya found herself rummaging through the draws while Kai attempted to point out she wouldn't find any food in there, however there was no reply to his calm remark. (Or as calm as he could get at this moment.
She grabbed the scissors and-
Snip snip.
Did she just..?
Kai stares in shock and awe as he watches her waist long hair become shorter and shorter with every moment that ticked by. However she stopped when it reached her shoulders, and she hauled herself from doing anything else. And that was by sinking to the ground in tears.
At this point Kai doesn't care about her hair, he cares about Nya. He quickly rushes up to her by her side and pulls her into a hug, letting her cry into his shoulder on the cold kitchen floor, knowing she'll need it.
And from that day, it's how Kai became overprotective.
