Uncle

"Hey, uh, Kai?"

Kai's sister's voice echoed through his bedroom door, and he looked up once he noticed her tone. "Hey," He answered. "You good?"

Nya nods and smiles in reassurance. "Yeah, I'm fine. Can I come in? We need to talk." She asked, patting down her outfit slightly — something that she only does when she's nervous. Oh no, is she okay?

The master of fire nodded after a few moments and patted the spot next to her on the bed. "Come sit here." He told her.

Nya obliged and did what he said; sitting beside him as she began to fiddle with her thumbs. Yeah, definitely nervous. Kai starts to become worried too, as he rarely ever saw his little sister like this. "Nya?"

Nya looks up and Kai and gulps slightly — as if she was hiding something from him. And it was only making him more worried by the second. It wasn't usual for her to act like this at all.

"This is.." Nya takes a few deep breaths in. "..It's really important that you fully listen to what I'm going to say — and that you don't get mad at me." She says, beginning to shake.

Kai immediately placed his hand on his sisters back and motioned it in circles gently. "Hey, you can tell me anything." He responded, turning his tone to a reassuring one and making sure she was aware that it would be okay.

The smaller woman looks up at the taller and swallows. "Promise?"

Kai nods.

"Okay."

The man waits surprisingly very patiently, making sure to keep physically consoling her and keeping her calm. Although he really wanted to know what was on her mind, he would wait respectively for said thing on her mind.

"So," Nya breaks the few minute silence after she had calmed down. "What I wanted to tell you, was..umm.." She trailed off once again.

"So you know how you wanted to be an uncle?" She recalled.

Kai nods, smiling at the memory when Jay and Nya were at his knees begging for them to be able to share a room after the siblings' parents agreed to it. The whole situation made him secretly very happy, as he knew that the couple wanted kids at a young age and that as soon as they got a room, they'd start trying. It made him strangely happy to know that he could be an uncle one day, and that eventually he'd be a father too.

"Yeah, I remember."

Nya takes a deep breath. "Well, in 7 months, you're gonna be one."

It took about ten seconds for Kai to process the information he had just been given. He was going to be an uncle in 7 months..he was gonna be an uncle!

On the outside, he kept calm for the time being. "Wait, you're having a child?" His excitement was boiling over, and he didn't know if he could play the chill card any longer.

His little sister finally breaks a smile and nods, pulling a positive pregnancy test behind her back and showing him the item, and holding back a laugh once she saw the biggest grin in his face ever.

"That's fantastic!" He yells, giving Nya a tight hug. "I'm so happy for you."

Nya smiles. "I'm happy for myself."

"Have you told mom and dad yet?"

"Ummmm..fuck."
