     This story starts when Kurapika is 9 and Y/N is 8
Kurapika was playing outside with Pairo. (Pairo is Kurapika childhood friends y'all would probably know from the hxh movies) Kurapika and Pairo were playing tag in their secret place in the woods. They run into a tall bush and Kurapika falls through it. They find that they stumbled upon a mansion. The mansion had gates and Kurapika and Pairo decided to investigate it. Before they try to jump the fence though, they see Y/N.

     Y/N is the daughter of the Lord that owns the mansion. The Lord is related to the Nostrade dude by the way. They're brothers. So basically Y/N is Neon's cousin. They decided to stay there for the summer as a vacation but Y/N was really bored because no one else was there except her dad who did paperwork all day. Y/N's mom had died from murder after Y/N had recently been born.

     Growing up, Y/N had been neglected by her dad and she mostly played by herself or with some maids. The maids were never any fun though.

     Y/N meets Pairo and Kurapika and they soon become good friends. It's all fun and games until the Kurta clan is murdered. Y/N realized this and panicked that both Pairo and Kurapika died. Due to the protective environment that she lives in, she couldn't save them.

     While Kurapika and Y/N are separated, Y/N gets engaged to an old man. She is getting married to him for the sake of her father's business. His name is Ronald. (Yes I came up with this name from Ron Weasly) Y/N met Ronald and decided she hated him and the only logical way for her to escape having to marry and probably give birth to a child and then be treated like a stereotypical wife, she decides she get her Hunter License and capture/kill Ronald. Ronald tried to groom her by the way but thankfully she knew he was trying to pull some sh!t bc Pairo and Kurapika told her to be careful about those things. Good job Kurapika and Pairo😻😻

     Fast forward to the Hunter Exam, Y/N snuck out of the mansion to get her license. Y/N cross dressed as a boy to not get caught because a lot of people knows what she looks like because of her father's reputation. Y/N saw Kurapika and didn't know what to do so she just tried avoiding him. That doesn't work out though. Kurapika sees Y/N but he doesn't recognize her.
