I can't believe I'm starting a new story right after I finished my last one. *sigh* But writing always calms me, so please enjoy! Comment some story suggestions if you'd like!

PS: This story might be pretty short, but I'm not sure yet.

{Lucy POV}

The pain.

The burning sensation.

It was...hell.

I woke up, twitching.

"Is she okay?"

"I think she's awake."

"Shhh!"

"Stop crowding around her!"

I opened my eyes, looking around. My entire body felt weak. Bandages wrapped around certain parts of my skin. Light shined gently on my face.

"She's awake!"

"Shh! You're going to startle her!"

"Sorry..."

I looked around, noticing my guildmates. They smiled.

"Lucy! You're okay!"

Was I?

I sat up, and yelped as I leaned my weight onto my right hand. I released a shaky breath, as the pain slowly faded away.

"You ok?" Gray asked, helping me sit up.

I realized I was in the Domus Flau's infirmary.

Memories started to flood my head, and I looked at my hand, hoping it wasn't true.

"Is...Is it..."

Everyone's smiles faded. A tear threatened to fall. I bit my lip.

"We're sorry, Lucy-San...We couldn't heal it..." Wendy said, her voice shaking. Then she covered her eyes. "It's all my fault!"

Carla patted her arm. "It's not, Wendy."

My right hand was covered in bandages, and it was stinging.

"So it's true..." I said, gently rubbing my fingers on the wrap.

"We tried to call for a penalty, but they refused..." Erza said, clenching her armored fist. "How dare they mock us..."

"Calling us sore losers..." Natsu said, his entire face shaking with rage. "I'm going to kill those bastards!"

I leaned back, my head tilting to face the side. Everyone watched as a tear fell from my eyes.

"Why did she have to..." I muttered, barely able to finish my sentence. "Why...Why do I have to be so weak...Why didn't I say anything..."

"She even broke the damn rule!" Natsu suddenly shouted, making me flinch. "She THREATENED you!"

"Natsu, calm down!" Erza ordered. "Can't you see you're making it worse?"

I closed my eyes as more tears fell.

"I'm going to make her pay for making you cry..." Natsu muttered.

I lied down, too disturbed and tired to do anything.

"Lucy—"

"Natsu." Erza shook her head, and everyone left.

My keys rested next to me, and I picked them up. They jingled together like bells.

"Cruel...She's so cruel..." I muttered.

My tired body eventually gave in to sleep, her long, fiery red hair dancing in my dreams.

(Time skip)

I went to the store to pick up some fingerless gloves.

"50J please." The cashier said. I gave him the money and left, opening the package.

They were made out of black leather, a Velcro strap holding them firmly in place. I put them on, fitting it around my wrists.

I smiled slightly as it covered my entire right hand.

It doesn't show the mark...

I slowly walked back to the guild, constantly rubbing the gloves just to make sure they were still there.

When I opened the guild doors, everyone waved, smiling comfortingly. I waved back, sitting in a corner of the guild.

It was much quieter than usual. There were barely any fights, and surprisingly, there was no party.

I didn't notice, though, because I was lost in my own space of thoughts. I closed my eyes and put my chin in my hands.

I felt something tap me, and I flinched, turning.

"Oh, it's just you..." I said.

"How are you feeling?" Natsu asked. I stayed silent. "Does it still hurt?"

I shook my head, turning around again. "I'm fine..."

We were silent. Erza, Gray, and Wendy sat across from me. The Exceeds sat on the table.

"Well, we were hoping you can go on a job with us." Erza said. "You can't stay here like this forever."

I didn't respond for a moment. "It's okay...You guys can go on your own..."

"Lucy." I was turned around, and Natsu and I made eye contact. "This isn't like you. You never gave up so easily like this."

"I'm not giving up." I said, shaking out of his grip. "I'm just...thinking. There's a lot in my head, and I won't be able to do jobs until I can focus again."

I scooted away from him. "I'm fine, really! You guys can go, maybe I'll join you on your next job."

"When are you going to get your new guildmark?" Gray asked, crossing his arms. "You have to at least get that today."

"Let's get it right now." Before I could protest, Natsu pulled me toward Mira-san.

"Mira-chan! Lucy wants her guildmark right now!" Natsu said.

"Really? Alright!"

She took out the stamp.

"This reminds me of when you first joined." Mira-san said, smiling fondly. "Where do you want it?"

"On her shoulder, just like mine!" Natsu said, looking at me. I eventually nodded, a heavy sigh coming out my mouth, but not wanting to ruin his beautiful smile.

She stamped my shoulder, and there it was: The pink guildmark.

He smiled at me, and I couldn't help but smile a bit back.

They left on the job, and I sat back down, sighing.

"Lucy." I looked up. Master was standing near me.

"Yes?" I asked. "Is something the matter?"

"Go to the infirmary." He instructed.

"The infirmary?"

"Go along, now."

I stood up, heading towards the room. Porlyusica-San was standing there, her arms crossed.

"Have a seat."

I sat down, and she took out a bottle of green, clear liquid. She put some on a cloth.

"Take out your gloves for me." She said. My breath hitched.

"W-Why...?"

"I'm going to try and heal that disgusting mark."

Reluctantly, I undid the velcro strap. It pained my eyes.

Raven Tail's mark proudly overlapped my old Fairy Tail mark.
