{Lucy POV}

What the hell am I doing?!

This was NOT how I as expecting to spend my Saturday morning.

I waited, nervously looking around.

Of course I shouldn't have expected him to turn up on time! What the hell was I—

Suddenly, two arms wrapped around me, pulling me back. I flinched.

"Hey!"

"N-Natsu..?"

He let me go and smiled. He was in his usual outfit. I wore a simple sweater and skirt.

"Surprise!" He took something from behind his back. It was a large bouquet of roses. They were wrapped in white paper and wrapping. I blushed.

"F-Flowers...?"

"Yep! They're pretty, right?"

I nodded, before taking them. Their sweet scent tickled my nose. "Th-Thanks..."

I flinched as his warm hand encased mine. I tried to relax, but I was nervous. He was my first date, and I wasn't sure if this was going to go well.

"What're you so uptight about? Just act normally, like we always do!"

"B-But this is a different case..."

Natsu let go of my hand and stood in front of me. His arms crossed.

"How so?"

"W-What?"

"How is this any different than when we normally hang out?"

"Th-That's when we're hanging out as friends! Not as—"

"Lovers?"

I blushed and looked away. "Y-Yeah..."

"Ah hah! Gotcha!" Natsu suddenly said, making me flinch.

"What?"

"You didn't deny the fact that we were lovers!" Natsu said, his hands on his hips all proudly, as if he succeeded in a science experiment. "So we're lovers!"

"W-Wha—no!" I said, shaking my head. "Th-That's not what I—"

Natsu's smile turned into a sad frown. "So...we're NOT lovers?"

Looking dejected, he looked away. I felt bad. Maybe I was right; this date wouldn't go as planned. It's Natsu after all.

However, I sighed. "F-Fine, we can hang out as lovers..."

I grabbed his hand, and with a blush, I pulled him along. He happily followed, holding my hand a bit more comfortably.

"W-Where are we going first?"

"Who knows? You choose."

I stopped and turned around. "You didn't even plan for this?"

"People plan for this sort of stuff?"

"I—duh..." I said, sighing. Of course...

"Well then! I'm hungry, so let's go eat!"

"Yeah, I guess that's a start..."

This time, Natsu led me. We walked to a nearby restaurant and got ourselves a table.

"Right this way." The waiter said. He led us to our table and sat down.

"Thank you."

"Thanks."

He gave us our menus, but didn't leave. I looked up at him.

"Um...is something wrong?"

His face turned bright red, and he shook his head. "No, ma'am, please don't mind me."

"O-Ok..."

I continued to look at the menu, but he didn't leave; he just continued to stare at me. I was starting to get uncomfortable. Natsu stood up and sat next to me.

"Hey, love, what do you wanna eat?" He asked, wrapping his arm around my waist. I blushed, and looked at him.

"L-Love?!"

"Yeah? What do you want to eat?"

I noticed the waiter walking away--er, RUNNING away.

I looked at Natsu, and sighed with relief. "Thanks, he was making me uncomfortable."

"Tch. He's so mean."

"Er, it's called being RUDE, Natsu."

"Blah blah, same thing."

I released a puff of air through my nose and smiled.

We managed to choose our food, and we called for a waiter. Natsu went back to his seat.

A woman came over this time, and she was wearing a pretty...skimpy outfit. She kneeled down and put her chest on the table, eyeing us both.

"So? What would you like, fine sir?" She asked, winking. I sat in uncomfortable silence as Natsu ordered.

"And...you?" She asked, looking at me as if I wasn't worth anything. "What do YOU want?"

Surprised by her rudeness, I blinked. "Um...I want the small breakfast soup--"

"We're out. So sorry." She said, not sounding apologetic at all.

"Oh...Okay! Then can I have the bacon and eggs with small pancakes--"

"We're out of that as well." She suddenly clocked her tongue. "Tch, tch, tch. Why are you eating so little? It's obvious you eat a mountain of food on the daily. Why, because you're with a man?" Shocked, I shut up, swallowing a big amount of saliva. She smirked and turned to Natsu.

"You're too good for her. Come with me, I'll show you--"

Natsu stood up. I looked at him.

"I really didn't wanna ruin the mood because we were out on a date, but this restaurant sucks." Natsu suddenly said. I blinked in surprise.

"N-Natsu!"

"You guys seriously don't know how to treat your customers. We're here to eat, not listen to your trash."

He moved out of his seat and grabbed my wrist. "Let's go, Lucy. They're not worth our time or money."

He pulled me out of my seat and out of the restaurant. I followed in silence, worried.

"Natsu--"

"Sorry, I got angry again." He said, slowing to a stop. I watched as Natsu turned around and made eye-contact with me. "Ignore what she said."

"I know..."

Natsu smiled, hugging me. "Don't worry about it. I'm not upset, so you shouldn't be upset either. Lighten up! We're out on a date!"

My heart fluttered, as my face turned red. I hid my face against his chest, embarrassed. He laughed, and I smiled slightly.

"Thanks..." I said, pulling away from the hug. He smiled, before holding my hand. We started to walk, without a destination.

"But seriously though, they need to hire new people. What the hell was up with her outfit?"

"It was weird, to be honest..."

"That was more than weird! It was just...blurrghhh."

I laughed.

"Ugh, but I'm still hungry..."

"Let's go see if there's a decent restaurant nearby."

Natsu smiled, and of course I smiled back.

Little did I know...

Our smiles wouldn't last long.
