{Natsu POV}

It was fun today. The entire time, my heart was beating out of my chest.

Lucy's hands were in mine. We were sitting at the beach(a famous date spot, Mira-Chan said), watching the sunset. She was sitting in between my legs, which were outstretched, and my arms were wrapped around her.

"D-Do we really have to sit like this?" She asked, adjusting her position every five seconds.

"Yeah." I said, firmly pulling her closer to me. My chin rested on her shoulder.

"Why?"

"The date isn't over yet." I said.

"S-So?"

"What, you don't like it?"

She didn't reply for a moment. "I never said that..."

I smiled. Her scent seemed to waft all over the place, but it was probably because I was so happy she was mine.

"Do you think we can keep going like this? As lovers?"

"What?"

"Well, I don't want to just go on a date, and then start acting like friends right after."

Lucy didn't reply. I smiled, looking over at the water.

"It's pretty, isn't it?" I asked, dropping the subject. She nodded.

"It is..." Lucy said. Then she sighed. "You know, Natsu, I still feel guilty..."

"Guilty? About what?"

"Well, I'm the reason everyone had to fight that day..."

I sighed. "This again?"

"Sorry, I'll stop..."

That came out a bit harsher than I expected. "Sorry, I just..."

We eventually came to awkward silence. I sighed.

"Don't bring yourself down like this, Lucy." I said. "No one blames you. You're home. You're with me."

"I know that, but—"

"No buts. It's not your fault. That's it." I said. "In my eyes, you're perfect."

She tensed, before relaxing again. She leaned back a bit. "Thanks, Natsu. That made me feel a bit better..."

"Well, bringing up the mood is my specialty so." I said, smiling. She smiled slightly.

"Look, the sun is slowly disappearing." She said, pointing. The sky was a brilliant shade of pink, orange, and dark blue. The sun was turning redder and redder. A third of it was already almost gone. The sea breeze was so relaxing.

"You cold?"

"Hm? No."

I sighed. "You're literally trembling."

"No, I'm not." She was. She was trying to rub her legs together, but it was really obvious.

"Here." I gave her my scarf, and wrapped it around my neck. "I don't know if it'll help, but it should warm you up a bit."

"Wait, but this—"

"Yeah, I know. I have eyes." I said, as she tried to take it off. "Why're you taking it off?"

"This is precious to you! I can't wear this, you never take it off!"

"You're precious to me as well." I said, with a "duh" tone. "You can wear it."

I firmly wrapped it around her, and kissed her nape softly. She flinched.

"You...You sure?"

"Mhm. Don't take it off."

My neck felt really bare without the scarf, but I was perfectly fine. As long as she didn't feel cold.

"Natsu..."

"Yeah?"

"I feel sleepy..."

I smiled fondly at how cute she was. But then I realized I was sleepy as well. "Same..."

"Let's head back before we fall asleep..." Lucy tried to stand, but stumbled back down onto me. I tried to keep my eyes open, but it was almost impossible. "What's going on...?"

"I don't..." I fell back, too tired to move. Lucy fell next to me, and I reached out for her.

Something's wrong.

"Lucy...!"

Then everything went black, and I passed out.
