I packed the last of my stuff at the house. It was the day I'd be leaving Shorewick. It was the day I try to forget about Sebastian altogether.
"Are you sure you want to leave?" Jacob asked from his bed.
"I'm positive. Staying here would mean the chance of bumping into Sebastian. Bumping into Sebastian means the chance of my forgiving him, and wanting to forget about our break-up and get back together."
"Are you saying that's not what you want?"
"Of course that's not what I want. I told Sebastian yesterday that I never want to see him again, and I meant it."
"That's a shame." Jacob shrugged.
"Why?"
"Because he's standing in the door way."
I glanced up at the door, sure enough Sebastian was stood there with a large box of chocolates and a blue teddy.
"What are you doing here?" I asked, shoving some clothes into a suitcase.
"I thought we could talk."
"You thought wrong."
"Please, hear me out, Dean," he pleaded.
"Jacob, can you give us a minute?"
"Sure, I'll be downstairs."
Jacob nodded at me before heading out the door. I dropped the items I was currently holding, and sat down on the bed I'd been sleeping in.
"You have two minutes. Explain to me why I should even consider forgiving you."
Sebastian sat down on Jacob's bed, placing the chocolates and bear next to him. It was clear by his bloodshot eyes that he hadn't had much sleep, and that he might of been crying. "First off, I'm sorry. The whole bet was a stupid thing, I didn't even begin to think what it would to do you if you did happen to fall for me."
"You're not helping your case, Sebastian."
"I'm just being honest. No secrets. No lies."
"Okay, get talking," I said, refusing to look him in the eye.
"Our first kiss was the minute my life changed, it was the minute I realised I might of just had feelings for you. Granted, at the time, they were unwanted. Then, when everything went down with Lily, I decided I did want the feelings I had for you. I wanted nothing more than to cheer you up, and be with you."
"Yet you still took the money?" I snapped.
"Just let me explain, Dean."
"You have one more minute."
"Going on with the bet, and taking the money was a complete and utter mistake. Again, I didn't think about how you'd feel if you found out about it. I was just thinking about the money."
"Is that all?" I asked, trying to hold back the tears. It's was nice to know that in all of this, all that mattered was money.
"Dean, the minute you brought it up with me, I knew everything was fucked. I knew you would never forgive me."
"So, let's get this straight, you're not sorry for what you did, you're sorry you got caught?"
"It's not like that, Dean."
"If it wasn't, you would of told me rather than let me find out from someone else."
"I tried to tell you. More than once in fact."
"Why didn't you then?" I yelled.
"We got interrupted every single time."
"And you couldn't of told me after the interruption?" I snapped, standing up from the bed I was perched on.
