"Libellus! You're going to be late for school!"

What? I turned on my side and blindly fumbled for my alarm clock: 9:00, great.

My blurry eyes peered around the room, getting an understanding of where I was. The dream I was just having was so vivid, so realistic, it took me longer then it should have done to remember... about school.

Clothes appeared on my body in a rush, just like all the other days. My uniform was a simple plaid skirt, worn just above the knees, long navy socks, a blue blouse and a striped tie; that's what you get for going to a private school. Beeps sounded the air again as my alarm blared into my brain. I should really get a refund on that clock, I thought as I crammed my hair into a bun.

The next few minutes were a blur as I brushed my teeth, tied my shoe laces and ran downstairs to shove a rosy red apple into my watering mouth. Sebastian (my annoying little brother) tutted at me, disapprovingly, as he looked my under-weight figure up and down. I wasn't like the 'popular' girls at school who had all filled in to their girly figures, my body remained slim and tall, at least for now.

I grabbed my keys and thrust my backpack onto my shoulders, as I ran out of our door and down the drive. Too late for the bus. Luckily, my Mum was still sitting in her black Hyundai and I managed to get a lift to school with her.

As I pushed open the door to my form room, the school bells started ringing through the corridor.

"Libellus, you are late... Again."

Wow, someone's a ray of sunshine this morning. I suppressed a smile at my own joke, walked up to Miss Shine and collected my detention slip. The wart that stuck out at the end of my teacher's nose seemed especially ugly today, those piercing green eyes made me squirm. Just an average morning for me then.

My feet carefully made their way through the crowd of seated teenagers, who laughed at my misfortune. Two girls in particular sneered a little harsher and a little more intimidatingly then the rest of my class. Trinity and Jade. My mortal enemies. For the past four years, when they ripped my copy of The BFG (by Roald Dahl) and I cut off their perfect ponytails, they have tried to make my life a living hell. The only escape I have from their tortures are my books.

"I see little book has decided to grace us with her presence."

"It's so sweet that you care enough to know the meaning of my name, Trinity!" I replied in the same, sarcastic tone.

"Enough, Libellus! I do not want any sarcastic remarks in my classroom, now take your seat and do not make another sound!" Miss Shine yelled across the classroom.

How typical, she will turn a blind eye when Trinity talks but as soon as I mutter a syllable she pounces like a tiger. I silently sat down and tried to ignore the whispers from the two 'bees' (as me and my brother call them) who sat at the front of the room, noticeable to everyone in the class. I could already tell, this was going to be a great day.
