'Men are all alike--except the one you've met who's different.' Mae West
"Oh, hi! I'm not in the mood now. We'll talk some other time!" I say like I'm a robot, and I start walking away.
Maybe I'll take the sub after all.
"Not so fast there, girlie! You're not leaving anywhere 'till we talk."
I continue walking away from him. I cannot believe this day refuses to end. I feel my arm grabbed again. This time I turn and look at him. 6'1 tall. Man, is hard to look at him from down here! The dark outside emphasizes his strong features. Sometimes I wonder what makes him so damn gorgeous. He has high cheekbones and a mouth to die for. Full lips, perfectly and utterly contoured and so expressive I was not yet able to catch them in my drawings. That, and the fact that I never had the nerve to ask him to pose for me. He has dark, wavy hair, a little on the long side, covering the top of his ears. From time to time I find myself wanting to sweep away the curls which form on his classic, high forehead. To help my adolescent desperation, the best part is always yet to come. I am always surprised by his blue eyes. I mean sometimes they are blue-sky blue, to become lagoon green the next moment. They can seem almost serene when we are hanging out, doing nothing. Blue like the pure crystal. But those are brief moments. Most of the time he has a nasty stare, helped by his dark eyebrows. Whenever I observe him, I have the impression he thinks everybody is stupid. Which of course.....but I digress. A fine rain starts to fall, entering my eyes, making it even harder to look at him.
"Don't you have your bike?" He asks, not letting go.
"No, I don't. Look, I don't want to fucking talk about it. It's raining and I want to go home. Can we postpone the harassment for tomorrow?" I stare at my arm, so small in his big hand.
He follows my gaze and he seems to think about something, trying to make a decision. I wait not so patiently, rolling my eyes. But of course, as always, he surprises me. He begins dragging me towards the parking lot.
"Oh, Jesus! Would you get off me already?" I yell at him, shaking my hand to escape.
"It's raining."
"Wow, really? Aren't you the perceptive guy? I just sa....."
"I'm taking you home and we can talk there. Now shut up and stop whinging like a chick in distress."
I cannot believe it. He didn't even stop to look at me.
"And you'll get bruises by tomorrow if you don't stop that."
God, I hate this guy! And he is wrong, I do not bruise easily. Cro-Magnon!
We arrive to his car. Believe it or not, I feel better the moment I get in and he turns on the heat in the chairs. At least my bum is happy.
"I don't want to talk about it."
"Did I ask you?"
"You just....Did you...But you....Arhhhh!" He is infuriating.
"When you decide to stop sounding like a babbling brook or whatever the hell you are doing, let me know!"
I throw him an evil stare and I cross my arms over my chest helpless. Angry people are stupid people.
"Good, that's better. I'll give you back your toys when you'll act like an adult."
I turn my head towards the window ignoring him. He can be such an arse.
When he parks his car in front of my house I jump out and power walk to the front door, without looking behind.
My parents are both home, which is weird, since my father always works late.
