"It's so dreary in here" Ginny groaned, falling back on to her bed, "I miss home"
"We're doing what we can with what we have" Hermione reasoned, sat on the floor with her back leaned against the bed, "but I agree, we could liven this place up a bit"
The two of them turned to me expectantly, and I quickly snapped out of my downward spiral, "My lord, are you two suggesting we make some changes around here? Herman, I'm proud"
Ginny laughed, reaching down to shove Hermione's shoulder amicably, "She's always had it in her. She just needed to get bored enough to be desperate"
"Falling down to our level, are you?" I grinned, "joining the riff-raff"
"Bugger off" she laughed, "So, what are we thinking?"
"We could go find th-"
Ginny sat up, throwing a pillow at me, "No boys! We're all intelligent ladies, we can do this alone"
"Okay! Okay!" I cried, throwing the pillow back at Ginny, "I'm sorry for thinking this could be a team effort - so, what are you thinking?"

"FRED! GEORGE!" Molly screamed, red with rage.
Snickering, the three of us dived into an empty room, listening to Mrs Weasley's warpath down the hall.
"Oh my god" Hermione giggled, covering her mouth with her hand, "How did you do that?"
"Easy enough, I've been friends with the twins for years, I know their tricks" I shrugged, a smirk on my face as I heard Fred's confused shout from upstairs.
"Bloody brilliant" Ginny laughed, slapping her knee, "all the fun and none of mum's lecture"
"I do like the no punishment part" Hermione admitted, a small smile on her face, "And the twins get in trouble... that's my way o getting back at them for yesterday"
Ginny laughed again at that, "the toad on the pillow trick - not bad"
"They're just bored being cooped up in here" I explained, listening for a second more before opening the door, "we should be good to get to the living room, make sure our alibis are tight"
"That way Sirius can vouch for us"
"Right you are, H"
"It's scary how good you are at this stuff"
"In all my years of knowing you, I think I can honestly say that's the nicest thing you've ever said to me"
The three of us quickly walked to the living room, silently slipping in and arranging ourselves on the furniture, careful not to wake the sleeping Sirius. Just as we got settled, a short laugh made us jump.
"I knew it was you three, that prank was way too subtle for the twins to have done it" he chuckled, hand on his chest, "reminded me of the old days at school"
We all paused for a moment as a wistful look crossed his face, broken by Ginny clapping her hands excitedly, "You liked it?"
"Of course I did! Any kind of vandalism in this old house is welcomed" he said, cynical smile tugging at his lips, "it'd kill the old woman to see laughter in the halls"
"Then we'll make sure to keep spirits up" I said, looking to Hermione for confirmation.
"Yeah, I could definitely do that again"

"Asshole"
I smiled widely at George, sitting down at the table and placing an angelic expression on my face, "I'm sure I don't know what you're talking about"
"Snakey bastard" he frowned, poking at his food angrily.
"Aww don't be so grumpy" I cooed, reaching over the table to pinch his cheeks, "It was only a little fun"
"The corridor looks pretty at least" Lee laughed, "very colourful"
"Why thank you" Ginny grinned, saluting jauntily.
"You little-!"
Fred laughed, shaking his head, "You did well, that's fair" he quirked his brow, "but you should know that you've now started a war"
"We'll win" Hermione replied, sipping her drink, "Question is, whose side are you on Ron?"
He froze, looking around the table, "Uhhhh" after a sharp stare from Hermione, he coughed, "I think I'll stick with the girls"
"Smart choice Ronald"
"Simp!"
I choked on my drink at Fred's use of the muggle term, looking at him with wide eyes as Hermione broke down into giggles, "where did you learn that?"
"It was in one of those videos on your block-thingy" he replied earnestly, miming the shape of a phone, "you showed me the other day... did I use it right?"
"Yeah - yes you used it right" I said, reaching across the table to hold his hand, "just wasn't expecting it, is all"
"What does it mean?"
"Means you'd do anything for lil Hermione over there" George replied, smirking at Ron, "That you loooov-"
Lee elbowed him in the side, noticing the utter embarrassment on the younger Weasley's face.
"What, he's not deny-"
After another sharp jab, George yielded and picked up a biscuit from the plate in the middle, stuffing his mouth so he couldn't speak.
Exchanging a glance with Fred, I watched as Hermione blushed, swapping a similar look with Ron.

"They're finally getting their heads out of their arses" I whispered, holding his hand tighter

"They're finally getting their heads out of their arses" I whispered, holding his hand tighter.
Fred smiled, his thumb rubbing small concentric circles on the back of my hand, "it's about bloody time"

After dinner, Fred whisked me away to the pantry, pulling me into a deep, heavy kiss that seemed to steal all the breath from my lungs. As I pulled away, chest heaving, I placed my forehead against his, "bedroom?"
Smirking, he pulled me in for one final kiss, my body backed against the door in a way that felt weirdly safe and protected. He backed away slowly, smirk widening as I chased his lips with mine.
"I would" he said, voice husky, "but I've got a war to plan"
Before my brain fully registered his words, he stepped away completely, twisting on the spot and apparating upstairs.
"Son of a.."
