"Where have the twins gone?" I asked Lee, frowning at the swarming masses walking to the stadium.
"No clue" he shrugged, wrapping his scarf securely around his neck before grabbing my wrist, glaring at a seventh year who bumped into me, "They might be there already, let's just try get some seats"
I murmured my assent, cursing quietly as I tripped over a small hufflepuff, moving so I was wrapped around Lee's arm for stability."Place your bets here!"
"Oh, please tell me they're not"
Lee and I groaned in sync as the twins came into view, stood by the entrance to the stadium with buckets and betting slips.
"Just keep walking" Lee whispered, ducking his head down, "we're not involved"
"Place your bets on the winner!" Fred called, holding the hat out with a grin on his face.
"Who'll win? Viktor? Cedric? Fleur or Harry?" George added, the self-made betting sheets in his hands.
Lee and I just moved quicker, slipping into the stadium without being spotted.
We took a few seconds to gather our bearings in the crowd before Lee tugged on my sleeve, pointing at the front row.
"Is that Charlie?"
"Son of a bitch!"
Grabbing Lee's hand, I began to drag him through the crowd, eyes set on the familiar ginger.
Coming up behind him, I released Lee, jumping on Charlie's back in leu of greeting.
"Mother of-"
"What are you doing here?" I screeched, hitting him lightly around the side of the head, "You didn't think to come say hello?"
"Emily! Merlin's sake gerrof me" he groaned, turning around to face us as I slid off of his back.
Charlie's colleagues watched in amusement as we briefly wrestled, my head caught in a loose chokehold.
"Lee help me!" I screeched, "tickle his armpit! It's his weak spot!"
"Don't you dare-"
Charlie was cut off with a hiss as Lee descended on to him with a vicious smirk, the older Weasley's arms releasing me as he tried to defend himself.
"Truce!" He shouted, battling Lee's hands away, "I call truce!"
Exchanging glances, Lee nodded, halting his attacks."You must be the friends with the twins"
I turned my attention to the blonde sat on Charlie's right, the two of them sat closer together than any one else in the group.
"And you must be..." I trailed off, lips forming a smirk, "Melissa?"
"Yes, how did you know?"
Lee sniggered quietly behind me, watching as Charlie struggled for words.
"Just a few stories from the dragon sanctuary is all, thought you fit the description"
Charlie sighed in relief, glare lessening, and went on to introduce the rest of his colleagues.
As Melissa turned back to face the stadium, Lee and I began wiggling our eyebrows at him suggestively, ducking out of the way when he began to swat us away."Bugger off" he said, arms moving in a shooing motion, "go find your seats"
"Spoil sport"
He did have a point though, the trial set to begin in five minutes.
"Hopefully they've found a seat" Lee murmured, eyes scanning the crowd for the twins.
"I doubt it, they're probably going to be out there until the doors close"
Lee hugged a laugh, beginning to sidle through the aisles.
"OI! OVER HERE!"
"Oh my god" I groaned, ducking my head in embarrassment, pushing Lee to move faster."Where have you been?" George asked as we sat down, Fred putting his arm around me almost automatically.
"We saw you calling for bets and ran"
"Found Charlie instead"
Fred hit himself on the forehead with a grimace, "I knew there was something I needed to tell you - why'd you let me forget Georgie?"
"Hey! Why's it my fault?"
"I asked you -"
Their arguing was cut off by Barry Crouch, his voice echoing around the stadium, "Attention all! The first trial is one of retrieval: the champion must take the golden egg from their dragon, and will be marked on their approach, timing and skill"
I sucked in a deep breath, hand flying to clutch Fred's.
"Are they crazy?" I hissed, "Stealing am egg from a nesting mother? That's suicidal!"
"They won't let them die" George replied, a small frown on his face as he paused to think, "right?"
"Right" Lee confirmed, voice unsure.
Fred just squeezed my hand tightly, narrowing his eyes as the first dragon was led into the stadium, "thats a Swedish short-snout"
The whistle blew, and Cedric marched in to the stadium, wand held high.
"Oh god I cant watch" I groaned, wincing as he dodged a particularly nasty swipe of the dragon's tail.
Eventually, Cedric raised the egg in to the air triumphantly, the back of his robes scorched and his face covered in soot.
Cheers erupted from the students around us, especially the Hufflepuffs (some of whom started crying with joy).
"C'mon, don't be sourpusses" I chided, elbowing Fred as I clapped.
"He was alright, I guess" Lee mumbled.
"Yeah, if you think transfiguring a rocks cool"
"It didn't even work properly-"
"Oi! He got the egg, so give it a rest"
The three boys pouted, George clutching his chest in mock-agony, "you've wounded us"
Rolling my eyes at their behaviour, I turned back to watch the next trials."- why is she wearing a skirt for fighting a dragon?"
"- Oh! That's gotta hurt -"
"- the skirts on fire. I told you it was a bad idea"
"- Ronnikins is almost having a fit, oi! She's alright Ron! Don't get your knickers in a twist!""- How can one man be that muscly?"
"- Did he just? HEY I THOUGHT YOU COULDNT HARM THE DRAGONS!"
"- That utter arse how dare he -"
"- Well... he got the egg"
"Not the point Lee!"As Krum walked off, my stomach tipped.
"He's gonna be fine" Fred murmured, rubbing my arm soothingly, "He's gone against Voldy twice and won, he can handle a dragon"
"Not to mention all that practice you did with him, he'll be fine" George added, reaching around Lee and Fred to pat me on the back.
"Yeah, he's Harry Freakin Potter. Nothing is going to stop him from getting that egg"
