Metanoia (n.)- The journey of changing one's mind and heart.

George's P.O.V

"Fred... Fred" I half-whisper half shout shaking my sleeping brother awake.

He groans in his sleep, twisting and turning, "What?" He mumbles still in his sleepy haze.

"I'm leaving."

He groans again twisting his head in annoyance, "Alright, go away," He spits putting his pillow over his head.

I push his shoulder one more time for good luck before walking out the room, down the stairs, and into the empty common room. The fire crackling is the only noise you can hear whereas everyone else is sound asleep.

As soon as I step out of the portrait and into the halls I feel a gust of cold air hit me. I shiver putting my hands inside of my hoodie trying to keep the warmth of the common room with me.

I hate the cold.

I would much rather be in my bed but I have Astronomy class. The only reason I'm not skipping is because of a certain girl with charcoal black hair and caramel skin. I can't get her out of my mind. Even when I was with madison Friday night Millie was still on my mind.

I even found myself thinking about her when Madison started to kiss down my neck and unbuckle my jeans. The date was fine I supposed. She talks a lot- No she gossips a lot. If we're being honest I was bored half the time and had wished I was elsewhere. Especially when we went back to the dorms and Fred was there.

He made hast leaving and told me he would be in Millie's dorm. I felt a slight pang of... Jealousy but I have no idea why. It subsided when Madison's lips became attached to mine so I suppose it was nothing. I must admit she is a fantastic kisser and good in bed. That makes up for her eerily high-pitched voice that I had to endure during dinner.

She also brought up Millie a lot which I thought was weird given the fact that she and Millie aren't friends. She wanted to know everything about her but I had nothing to tell her. I don't even know her birthday was what I figured out last night when I couldn't sleep and my mind drifted about.

I don't know Millie's birthday. Or favorite color, or film shit I don't even know her middle name. It's crazy to think about since we've known each other for almost 3 years and yet I know none of the basics. I could blame Millie since she's so closed off but truth be told it's me also I never asked before.

I walk inside the astronomy classroom to see a few students already there, one of them being Millie. She spots me and gives me a small smile, I do the same. There's something else I like about millie, I like her smile. Especially when she laughs, it's so childlike.

"Hey George," She greets once I reach her. Her voice sounded like sweet honey to my ears.

"Hey" I greeted back standing close beside her, my front grazing her back as the teacher began to talk.

"Today we're going to be doing something a little different. We're going down to the school grounds. Astronomy isn't just about how many stars are in the sky it's about really, truly understanding and appreciating the beauty from it. So today's lesson well does just that. Appreciate, follow me, class." the teacher walks over to the door waving us through it.
