1. Hopeless Idiot

"You guys will be participating in a killing game!!"

Everyone shook in fear.

Except for me. It didn't bother me much, I was used to death. If someone tried to attack me, I could just turn the tables.

This didn't bother me.

Yet everyone else was so scared.

I wish I was scared. Then I could be normal. Not a killer.

I want to be normal.

"So that leaves Kaito and Maki as our last suspects!"

"Hold on what?!"

"I have a idea to make this interesting~" Kokichi said dragging attention away from me.

"Kokichi what are you up to..?" Shuichi asked before he smirked.

"Don't worry Shumai! We simply let them fight!!"

"Fight?" I asked.

"FIGHT?!" Kaito yelled.

"Of course~ let them spit arguments at one another until one of them slips up!! That's how we'll find out culprit!! So fight for your lives!!"

"Ah, Kokichi, don't you think that's too far-"

"Me and Maki aren't the culprits."

I looked over at Kaito as he said that.

"How do you know that? Is Atua talking to you?~"

"What? No! I just know that I'm not the culprit, and she's not the culprit!"

"You have evidence that proves you guys innocent?" Kirumi asked. I was about to shake my head before Kaito said something.

"No...but I just know she isn't the culprit! I believe in her!!"

"You believe in me?" I asked confused at what he had meant.

"I just believe that you aren't the culprit! And I know I'm not the culprit. So it can't be either of us!"

I stared at him as Kokichi began going on about Kaito being an idiot.

He isn't wrong...but...I feel...something warm. Why does he believe in me? Why believe a killer?

"I believe in Maki! And nothing will change that!"

The words he's saying...they make me feel...cared for?

This feeling is...nice.

"So I just need to find evidence that rules me and Kaito out as suspects?"

"Hm?"

"You can prove you guys aren't guilty?"

"Not yet."

"Don't tell me you're following in the steps of that idiot!" Kokichi said to me.

"I'm not dumb unlike him."

"HEY!"

I looked over at him then back at Kokichi.
"But that hopeless idiot may have encouraged me a bit."
