Intermission of the final show

Cameron went looking for the girl that was on fire tonight! Laura had become Elphaba on that stage! Completely upped the ante and everyone felt the pressure to be on point. She was killing it!
But she couldn't find her anywhere!
Walking back into the light of the auditorium entry, Cameron missed the green eyes watching her from the shadows. The witch's cape and green skin hide the dark figure sitting on the power box.
Laura watched her turn in the light, heading back inside. She couldn't talk to her yet. She wanted to stay in the zone she was in; she was Elphaba, at least for another forty minutes. She needed to stay here. She had a point to prove, and she couldn't let Cameron have this over her. Besides, she sighed. If she was leaving then she was going on a high.
Her Dad agreed with her mum. He wanted her in Houston. She would have to say goodbye in a couple of weeks anyway. Seeing the pretty girl dressed in her blonde Glinda wig-wearing her white princess dress, she wanted to remember them like this.
As Elphie and Glinda.
The best friends as star-cross lovers.
It was the easiest way to start saying goodbye.

Back on Stage:
Glinda:
"And, because I knew you." Cameron sang emotionally. Laura shook her head, putting her other hand on theirs.
"Because I knew you..."
Cameron stepped closer, running her fingers over the rim of the witch's hat.
"Because I knew you."
They harmonized.
"I have been changed..." They held the note together. They were in this moment together. Their eyes locked on each other.
"For good...." They sang together.
Cameron searched her eyes leaving the decision up to her. Laura stepped into her, kissing her lovingly on the lips. Cameron felt herself burn up in these lips.
"Damn!" Came out of Lucy's mouth before she led the cheer that quickly exploded in the room.
Cameron lost her balance, grabbing onto her arm. Laura suddenly remembered where they were.
The cheers became deafening.
Except Cameron could see the tears in the green girl's eyes. Was she saying goodbye?
As Laura stepped away, she realized that was exactly what she was doing.
This was the end of them.
The end of Elphie and Glinda.
Their eyes met for a moment. Their final performance together, and her girlfriend was pouring herself into this.
She took a deep breath and got herself back into the story. She needed to be there with her.
This was their story, too.
This was their love story.

Elphaba: "I only wish..." Laura turned around, looking over towards the other side of the stage at Cameron.
"What?"
"That Glinda could know that I'm alive. That we're alive."
"She can't know, not if we want to be safe. No one can ever know." Sean touched her hand. "Come..."
Laura moved away, heading up to the front of the stage, a little where Cameron could see her.
Cameron sang, seeing her there.
"Who can say if I've been changed for the better? But..." She looked down and saw her standing there waiting for her.
"Because I knew you..." They sang together beautifully.
Ozians: "No one mourns the wicked..."
"Because I knew you..." Cameron sang to her.
Her voice broke.
Laura looked over at her.
"Because I knew you..." She spoke.
They both took a breath.
"Have been changed..."
Laura blew her a kiss before she ran up to Sean as Fiyero and Elphaba stepped up, leaving through the Clock one last time.
Ozians: "No one mourns the wicked! Wicked...wicked!!!"
And the curtain fell for the last time.

As the auditorium emptied, Cameron walked out onto the stage again.
Laura was gone. She could feel it. Her girlfriend disappeared as soon as they received their flowers and a standing ovation.
She stopped outside in the dark, seeing the vehicles leaving. The siding door opened, and Sean poked his head out the passenger window.
"Cam! You coming or what!"
Cameron pursed her lips a moment feeling the back of her eyes about to welt up. Laura wasn't coming.
"Cam." Dayna jumped out of the van. "You can't stay out here; we have to be at the party!"
Cameron nodded. She was just taking one last look around. Dayna stopped in front of her.
"What is it?"
Cameron looked up at her. She didn't have a good feeling.
"I haven't cleared the air with Laura yet."
Dayna looked around. "She's probably already there! Come on, get in the van!" Dayna pulled her arm. "Besides, your mum will flip if you don't arrive with us. Get in."
