You heard a bell ring and as the rest of the Hermes Cabin got up, you followed. The mess hall was open aired and the Hermes table was quite full. You were squished between Connor and Travis, who treated you like their little sister even if you weren't a child of Hermes. You smiled, feeling safe again.

The campfire was fun. You were shoving Connor away because he was eating a s'more and his hands were sticky and you did not want a hug, thank you very much. Then, Travis bear hugged you from behind with, thankfully, no s'mores.

"Hey, double attack. No fair!" You giggled as you were set down. You sat down and then you heard a gasp. Suddenly, you felt the stares of way too many people. You looked up to see a floating hammer above your head. You looked at the campfire and thought you saw someone winking...

Anyway, you weren't surprised. "All hail Y/N L/N, daughter of Hephaestus."

*Time skip*

You woke up in the Hephaestus cabin the next morning. The cabin had been very welcoming and the head counselor, Beckendorf, was really nice and willing to explain some things that Annabeth hadn't really told you. He also told you that Annabeth was a very different person around Percy and that he never believes anyone if they try and tell her what she's really like, a bloody git.

You looked at your schedule for the day, sword fighting. You couldn't wait.

Once you got to the arena, you saw all the practice swords. Suddenly, a big black furry thing tackled you. You tensed, ready to summon your sword, but then you felt a tongue licking you.

"Mrs O'Leary, off!" A voice shouted. The thing got up and you recognized it as a hellhound. "Sorry, she must really like you. I'm Quintus." You shook his extended hand then Beckendorf called you over to pick a practice sword.

"What if I already have a sword?" Beckendorf turned to you.

"Well if you have one, then you are welcome to use it. We have sword fighting with the Poseidon Cabin today, so you'll be paired with Percy." All the Hephaestus kids snickered at the thought of a newbie fighting Percy Jackson at swordplay. You just smirked. You were experienced thanks to Luke.

You flicked your hand and thought of a sword, a sword appeared in your hand as Percy uncapped his pen and stepped into the ring. The two of you circled each other and then Percy lunged, you parried his sword and jabbed at his left side. He blocked and after that, it was all a blur. Parrying, dodging, jabbing, spinning, and the clang of swords.

"Time" Beckendorf called out. "Practice is almost over and the rest of us haven't had a chance to practice yet." You froze as Percy laughed.

"Sorry." You willed your sword to disappear and went to get your water bottle. Percy followed, grabbing his water bottle. You both sat down and watched the rest of your cabin practising.

"Girl, you're good. Where did you learn to fight like that? Not everyone can hold out that long against me in a sword fight." You looked at his stunned expression and laughed.

"Luke came to 'talk' to me almost every week. It normally ended with me sword fighting with him. Over time, he started disappearing whenever I was close to defeating him. I guess that's where I got so good at sword fighting."

He chuckled. "Yeah, fighting Luke would have that effect." You took a long drink of water and were grateful for the cool breeze that cooled your burning skin. "So, how are you finding Camp Half-Blood to be?"

"Amazing, the Hephaestus kids are really nice and so are Connor and Travis. It's amazing here and I've only been here for about a day."

Percy smiled at you. "I'm glad." You took another long drink of water and smiled back.
