Jaylee's POV

The whole team locked and boarded the house down before they finally calmed themselves enough to relax and take a break. Thankfully the house was only a one story so no one needed to separate and go upstairs to check for any possible break ins.

Everyone took turns securing the house while the others rested on the floor or couch, getting as much needed rest as they can before the last fight happens. Louis had a deep feeling inside that there was only one team left out there besides us. He kept saying how it was going to be quite the battle, one that could possibly make history. So we needed to rest up as much as possible and be prepared with weapons and strength.

Although everyone was able to take a nap, including myself, I don't think Louis even tried to do the same. He looked wide awake, not letting his guard down for a second. I could see how much this battle meant to him if he was willing to lose sleep for it and keep everyone on his team alive. He was just always ready for what was yet to come. I could tell he didn't want to let his team down.

After I woke up from my peaceful nap, I leaned my head off of Zayn's shoulder and looked around the dark room to see where everyone else was at. I spotted 4 other figures and I sighed in relief before I moved my ankle a bit to see if my leg still hurt.

I winced in pain as I felt it throb, regretting my decision before I leaned back against Zayn and embraced his warmth. I was feeling very weak and exhausted from this whole day, not to mention the wounded leg didn't help whatsoever. I just wanted this to be over with already. I wanted the guys to win so that I can go home and be where I feel most safe.

I missed my family and craved their touch more than anything. But even though I hated being here, I was glad I was with the Dark Riots because they've proved to be one of the best gangs out there so far. Especially if we're the last two standing.

I wasn't safe in this town, but I was safe with them.
I wasn't safe in this tournament, my life was on the line, and yet I somehow felt secure with them. I knew I would never be the same person when I return home, nor will I be able to be as peaceful as I was. I knew these people would be a part of my life for as long as I live whether I'm physically with them or not, cuz we shared history together. It'll forever be with me whether I want it to or not.

No matter what I do or where I go, the Dark Riots will always be with me. Was I willing to accept that?

If I looked at it in a positive light, they all somehow could feel like brothers to me. They all were mean when they had to be, yet loyal and caring when they needed to be. I could see and feel it in them that they actually did care about me. Was I more to them than just a team player who would help them win their title?

"Does it hurt?" Suddenly I heard Louis' voice come from the side of the living room as I glanced over at his direction.

"Only when I move it." I sighed as I looked down at my bandage that Liam wrapped.

"It'll heal better soon." He assured me as I nodded my head.

"I'm sorry if I failed you Louis." I whispered as I saw him tilt his head.

"Why would you say that?" He questioned.

"I got injured, it set us back greatly. We could of been finishing this by now." I said softly.

"It's not your fault you got hurt Jaylee. You did your best. You've been doing your best this whole time. I'm proud of you." He said as my eyes widened. Louis is proud of me? Why did that mean so much to me? Ever since I got kidnapped by them all I wanted from Louis was his approval.
