You can usually tell so many things from the Marks. 

If someone's had a hot night of passion, they're covered. Even a kiss between soulmates leaves both of their lips stained a mix of brilliant colors. Soulmates walk down the streets, hand in hand, Marks enveloping their hands.

Wherever you touch your soulmate, or they touch you, a Mark appears. 

Beautiful splashes of color dancing across skin that last until the end of the day, constantly moving, swirling, and changing. 

You've waited all your life for a Mark to appear, to no avail. So many years, and now you're in high school. 

Soulmates should love you, right? Unending happiness? Your Perfect Match?

You want to find yours, as soon as possible. You have to escape. 

Because more than just Marks cover your mother's skin. Bruises, blood. She always insists that it's fine. It's fine. It's fine.

They're soulmates. It's fine.

When you find yours, you can move out of the house. Get away from it all. Surely your soulmate will understand, take you in.

You just have to find them. 

Some people might think you're just touchy, but really? You wait for a mark on their skin. On yours, although you hate the idea of touching. 

It just reminds you of the bruises.

You wear the most revealing clothes. The more skin, the better. Even a bump into a stranger could reveal a mark on a shoulder or such. 

You just live normally, waiting.

"Hey! Did you hear about the match after school today?" Kiara, your bestfriend, runs up to you, talking excitedly. 

"A volleyball match? Against what school?" You ask, purposely brushing against her shoulder, just to check, even though she already has a soulmate. In fact, he's on Karasuno's volleyball team. That's the only reason she likes to watch our school play, really. 

"Ryu said they're playing Fukurodani!" She says, "Apparently they're super good."

"Ah, well, I guess I'll come," you say. More chance to meet people. To search. "Is your sister coming?"

"Mhm," She hums, gathering her books. "See you there! I gotta go to Algebra!"

You wave her goodbye, then head to your own class, brushing past people, alert.

As expected, tons of people showed up to watch the match. Fukurodani and Karasuno alike.

The boys are warming up and Kiara and her sister are wishing her soulmate good luck. You join them.

"You're gonna do so good, I just know it!" Kiara squeals, hugging Tanaka and leaving Marks on his arms. His teammates watch, envy in their eyes.

He blushes. "Y-yeah!"
