Janet and I were now in the car.

"Where do you wanna go?" I asked as I buckled my seatbelt.

"Well I don't know, I just wanted to spend some time with you. Have you eaten anything?" She asked as she buckled herself in and started the car.

"Nope.." I licked my lips and slowly placed my hand onto her lap. "Not yet at least"

"Well, let's go get something to eat." She chuckled as she pulled out of the driveway.

"Well I think maybe we could.." I began

"I already know where this is going. You aren't tired from last night?" She cut in.

"Not at all." I began running my hands in between her thighs.

"Can you at least wait until later tonight?"

"Ugh, you're no fun!" I began to pout. I grabbed my phone out of my pocket and began to look through the silenced notifications.

Nonstop texts and missed calls from Kenneth. He was on his way to a restraining order.

"Please call me, I sincerely apologize. I'm so sorry to you and Janet."

I sighed and responded: I do not want to keep in contact with you. Please delete my number Kenneth.

"Toni? Did you hear what I said?" Janet asked, snapping me back to reality.

"I'm sorry, what?"

"I said that I have to tell you something." She sighed.

"Okay, what is it?" I put my phone down and gave her my undivided attention.

Janet pulled into a parking space as we arrived to a small diner.

"Jermaine called me earlier today and he said he needed to talk to me as soon as possible."

"Okay.."

"So, you wouldn't mind if we got something to eat and I took you back home? I don't know how severe this is.. he sounded okay on the phone but he could easily be faking and I don't want to take any chances.."

"Okay, yeah. That's perfectly fine, I understand."

"Okay, I'll come back over after we talk and I'll just spend the night over at your house."

I leaned in and kissed her on her lips. I placed my hand on the side of her face while looking her in her eyes.

"Thank you for telling me baby." I smiled.

"Of course, I didn't want to keep it from you. What do you want from inside?"

"Anything is fine really.. surprise me?"

"Okay." She grabbed her wallet and exited the car.

I checked my phone again. I took a moment to think and ended up on deciding to call Kenneth.
After one ring, the line connected.

"Toni, please just-" He began.

"You have less than two minutes to talk. Go."

"Words can not express how sorry I am to you and Janet. I sincerely apologize, I drunk too much that night. Yes, that's not a valid excuse and I'm not using it as a coverup. I just need you to know that I accept what I did and you have every right to feel the way you do. You both may need space but I really needed to get this off of my chest."
