Janet

I woke up to the smell of food lingering around the house. Even though my body was practically sore from last nights activities, I was hungry. Once I finally made it out of bed and freshened up a bit, I made my way downstairs to Toni.

"Look who's finally awake." She said as she finished cooking.

"Goodmorning." I walked up behind her and wrapped my arms around her waist. Moments like these I cherished so deeply.

"Did you sleep well?" Toni asked as she put my plate together.

"You know I did." I giggled as I sat down at the table.

Toni and I began eating in silence. I didn't know what I wanted to say, but I felt like something was weighing down on her. There was some sort of tension.

"You okay baby?" I asked as I made eye contact with her.

"Yeah, i'm fine. You?" She asked in return.

I nodded and went back to eating.

Once we finished eating, I decided to go upstairs and shower.

"Are you gonna join me?" I asked as we walked up the stairs.

"No no, I think i'm going to go back to sleep." Toni said as she passed me.

As Toni sunk into bed, I went into the closet to find something to wear.

"Are you planning on going somewhere?" Toni asked.

"Yes, and you're coming with me." I smiled as I made my way to the bathroom.

"Yeah, right." She sunk back into bed and shut her eyes.

As I showered, thoughts ran through my head. Maybe Toni didn't fully forgive me, I couldn't blame her though. I took her trust for granted which is something I shouldn't have done. Her avoiding physical contact with me, set me off.

Once I finally finished getting ready, I walked to Toni's side of the bed.

"I don't want to go anywhere Jan." Toni said as she pulled the cover up on her more.

"Come on, let's get out of here. It's a beautiful day outside." I tugged at the cover.

"Janet, i'd rather stay. Where are you going?" She looked up at the ceiling.

"I was going to do some shopping, there's this banquet in about two weeks and I wanted you to go with me."

"I can pick out an outfit later. Who are you going shopping with?"

"Well I wanted to go with you but i'll just ask Gil to tag along."

"Just Gil?" She asked quietly.

"Yes Toni." I sighed.

"Have fun, bring me back something."

I leaned in to  hug her goodbye, she gently patted my back.

"Okay Toni, why are you acting like that?" I pulled away.

"Like what?"

"You won't look at me and you barely want to touch me. What happened between last night and this morning?"

"Nothing Janet. I'm just not feeling good right now. Go please so I can nap."

"You don't want me to-"

"Janet, go have fun with Gil. I can wait." Toni cut in.
