Toni

Last night was definitely a night to remember. The way Janet expressed her feelings to me before everything transpired took me by surprise. I thought I was crazy, but Janet really felt some way about me.

I was woken up by my phone ringing. I reached over to answer it.

"Hello?" I mumbled, still halfway asleep.

"Hey Toni, are you on the way?" Kenneth asked.

Oh shit.

"Damn, what time is it?"

"12:53. Are you just now waking up?"

I quickly got out of the bed and scrambled to get my clothes.

"No no, i'm on my way. I'll be there in like ten minutes."

"Okay." He hung up.

As I quickly changed into my clothes, Janet came out of the bathroom.

"Woah woah, where are you rushing off too?"

"I'm sorry, I have to run over to Kenneth's house really quick." I said as I put on my shoes and began to tie my laces.

"Are you coming back?" She asked as she handed me my purse.

"I'm not sure, i'll see."

I went into the bathroom to freshen up.

"I had a great time last night." Janet said as she stood in the doorway.

"Me too." I smiled as I finished freshening up. "Excuse me." I said as I slid past her.

"Damn, no hug or kiss goodbye? One night stand huh?" Janet asked as I headed to the door. I giggled as I turned back around to hug her.

"I'm sorry Ms. Jackson." I mumbled in her ear before kissing her cheek.

"Don't start something you can't finish." She said before connecting our lips.

I didn't want to leave yet, I wanted to stay for as long as she'd let me.

The kiss slowly intensified, making it harder for me to pull away. Once I finally pulled away, I looked deeply into her eyes.

"I really don't want you to go, Do you think you could reschedule?" Janet asked as she ran her hand against my cheek.

"I'm sorry, this meeting is long overdue. I'll try to come back later, yeah?" I leaned in and kissed her one last time.

"Okay, call or text me." She said as she pulled away.

"I will" I said as I headed for the door.

I finally arrived to Kenneth's house. I checked the time, 1:05, not bad. He opened the door and invited me in.

I couldn't help but think about Toni during breakfast. The way she made me feel last night left me speechless. It was just something about her.

But why did she have to go see Kenneth? I doubt they had an actual business meeting planned due to her being on break. Why couldn't she just tell me the truth?

I began to clean up as a few of the kids started leaving.

"Well, well, well if it isn't Ms.Jackson" Gil said as he walked down the stairs.

"What is it Gil?" I chuckled.

"You and Toni Braxton."

I felt my heart nearly drop. We weren't that loud.
