Janet

"So this one right here.. I'm really feeling. I think we can do something with this so set it aside." I said to Jermaine as he played a few more beats.

We were going through a catalog of beats he made  for me to pick out the ones I really liked to hopefully use on the upcoming album.

"That's about.. twenty tracks right now. It's getting pretty late so I think this is a good place to stop for tonight."

"Yeah, I've got to hit the road." I said as I gathered my things. "Thank you so much Jermaine, it feels so good to finally be back in the studio and thanks for thinking about me."

"I'm going to always look out for you. I appreciate you for letting me work with you again. Bring it in!"

I smiled and leaned in to hug him. I slowly pulled away as I said "I'm going to call Jimmy & Terry tomorrow to catch up and get them on board.. if you have any ideas as far as collabs just go ahead and call who ever, I trust you and your taste." I laughed.

"Alright, I got you. This about to be a banger! Have a safe ride home J. Call me if you need anything."

"Okay! Call me tomorrow so we can figure out our next studio meet. Take care." I said as I exited the studio and made my way to the car.

Once I was finally in the car, I checked my phone for any notifications. I had a few missed calls Toni as well as messages that talked about how much she missed me. As I started the car, I decided to return her call.

"Hello?"  She answered.

"Hey baby. I just wanted to call and tell you that I'm on my way."

"Perfect timing. Drive safe but hurry."

"What am I hurrying for?" I asked.

"I just think you should hurry." It went silent as I heard her breathing slowly pick up.

"Are you alright?"

"I'm more than okay but I need you to hurry and make me feel even better." She said as she let out a slight moan.

"Yes ma'am.. I'm on my way."

"Mm be safe." She hung up the phone as I put the car in reverse.

As I exited the studio parking lot, my desire for Toni grew more and more. I wanted her so badly that I wouldn't mind catching a ticket.

I couldn't wait to tell her about the new project. Hopefully she wouldn't mind me working with Jermaine but to be safe I won't tell her until everything is set into stone.

Every stop light was working in my favor by turning green as I approached them. It was as if someone was looking out for me.

I was now ten minutes away as I approached another light. This one changed but unfortunately, to red. I was the only car sitting at the line as I checked around for any oncoming traffic.

I think I can run it.. there's nobody around. Hell, it was worth it.

I pressed on the gas and began making my way through the light until I heard a loud car horn coming closer. I turned my head to the side only to see a pair of headlights approaching and with a loud boom, everything went black.

It was now going on a quarter til midnight. Janet and I talked around ten. What's taking her so long?

I ended up having fun by myself which wasn't what I had planned for tonight. I tried calling her cell but there was no luck, straight to voicemail. I hope she was alright.

If I were to stay up, I would overthink. What if she was with Jermaine? What if it was something serious? Those thoughts began pacing through my head. I decided to attempt to go to bed until my phone ringed, it was Kenneth. What could he possibly want at this hour? I declined the call and let out a deep sigh as I rolled over and closed my eyes.

"Toni!" I heard someone yell from downstairs.

I quickly sprung up and exited my bedroom. It was Tamar making her way up to me. She seemed scared as if something serious had happened.

"Girl what's wrong? Are you okay? I thought you were going to the club."

"Toni you need to put some clothes on right now! This is serious."

"Tay..what is it? Are you hurt? Is it mommy? Is everyone okay?"

"Kenneth has been trying to call you Toni. Put your fucking clothes on!"

"What's wrong with Kenny?" Fear set over my body.

"It's not him. It's Janet."

My heart sunk. Tears began rolling down my face as it became harder for me to breathe.

"What... what do you mean? What happened? Tamar is she okay? Did Jermaine do something? TALK!" I began to freak out.

"Toni I'm going to need you to chill out! I was at one of my friends house for a bit of a pre party before we went clubbing.. Kenneth called me and told me that she was in a car accid-"

"Shut up. Stop. Don't you dare say it."

"I'm sure she's fine but you need to come on." Tamar reassured.

I quickly ran to my room and threw on whatever I could find in a matter of three minutes. Janet was okay, she just had to be. I wiped my eyes as I ran back to Tamar.

"Let's go. Take me to the hospital." I said as I ran out of my house.
