"Seven?! You both had seven more?!"
"Yes! And I don't regret it!"
Cotton sat back in her chair, astounded by her childhood friend, Lia, who happened to be visiting from the East.
She had just arrived the other night, bringing the young wife rushing to her former village to finally fill the gaps of gossip from their adult lives, when Lia spontaneously exposed the extreme number of children she had recently conceived.
"Y-you already have twins, do you not? Are you both really ready for all seven of them?"
"Oh Stars, we are! You sound just like my Mother!"
Narrowing her eyes while drinking the bitter hot chocolate, Cotton sipped rather loudly, unconvinced over her friend's confident declaration. "Are you certain?"
"Cotty, you best shut that mouth of yours before I shut it for you." She lightheartedly threatened. The lavender haired woman only giggled and rolled her ocean toned hues, completely unresponsive to the mauve colored maiden's threats.
"Say, Cotton dear," Lia began, a mischievous grin spread over her lips like butter to a scone. "You do have some business to share as well, no?"
Said woman scrunched a wary brow as her childhood friend adjusted her position, sending her a precarious look while neatly folding her hands over her lap. Whatever business that she wished to inspect, Cotton was already not a fan.
That blasted woman will start blabbering about how you and Louis should have children! The negative side of her head hissed, sprouting accusations from the darkness of her mind.
Meanwhile, the goodness of her soul seeped into action, graciously giving Lia the benefit of the doubt. She is only curious, it has been 3 years since they have last met, give her a break!
Cotton rebuts between them, shoving both sides away. Will the both of you please be quiet and let me decide?
Her consciousnesses were such a headache sometimes.
With her attention returning upon her friend, the lilac haired lass continued to steadily sip her beverage with an emotionless face. You mustn't allow the enemy to know what you're thinking after all. And besides, she knew exactly what her friend wished to acquire.
"It's been three years, Cotton." Lia started, a 'matter of fact' tone swimming in the mood. "Yes, indeed." Said woman replied calmly, "And we are very happy." Well, she hoped he was.
"But, surely you both had the thought of having--"
She interrupts, casting a pointed look over the dark haired woman. "We have. But he decided not to." She swiftly raised her hand to silence the lass, knowing she'd open her mouth to chastise her Husband. "We both decided that we are not ready."
Clunking the tea cup upon a barrel they used as a makeshift table, Lia huffs, clearly displeased by the news. "Humph! Why not?"
Cotton released an exasperated groan, glaring in displeasure. "Lia, please. Must I repeat? I said the both of us are not ready!"
"Oh alright.." The young woman relents, dunking the last of her bitter hot chocolate down her throat. "I just wished to see a little one with the same features as you both." She pouts, dejectedly sighing against her hand. "I wished to be an Auntie."
Coughing and sputtering into her gloved hand, she bemusedly asked, "When did you start becoming obsessed with children? You used to detest your grandmother so much for it."
