A Tourney of Knights

Clouds drifted overhead as two knights pressed swords, drawing each other back with their strength. Upon them, a stadium filled with tens and thousands of people clapped enthusiastically, cheering and hooting as the competitors advanced further under the semi wintry day.

Pressing a hand to her breathless chest, Cotton rushed towards the cold stone seats, plopping beside the jubilant crowd and sagging into the hectic atmosphere.

Opening her hand, she peered into the letter crumbled in her grip, completely exasperated by her Husband's decisions. Was there really nothing else he could do, except exhaust himself?

Wiping the sweat from her brow, she watched as a smaller knight pushed their larger opponent to the ground. Of course he had to be here. Grinned her soft conscious, bringing the lavender haired woman into a adoring smile. It's this time of the season after all.

I suppose, but he could at least use this time to gain more energy then lose it.

Just as the congregation began to grow wild with the recent victory, the bemused lass jumped at the sudden voice of a very energetic woman screaming with joy.

"Isn't he the best!" The lady giddied towards Cotton, clasping her hands excitedly as she motioned her head towards the smaller Knight. "He's the greatest Knight I could ever know!"

Setting her gaze towards the man, she faintly noticed how petite he appeared. Seeing his size, it seemed somewhat concerning how the male could possibly be around her height. And especially in a fight like this. Wouldn't he be easily defeated??

I don't think so. Yawned the other half of her conscious, inattentive to the clashing of blades. Did Louis not mention how size had no particular matter in a fight?

Trailing her gaze after the smaller knight, who quickly skidded away from his next opponent, she just had to agree.

According to her Husband's combat theory, smaller fighters had the possibility to be swifter than their taller and heavier opponents. Thanks to that, Cotton certainty felt how smart this fellow could be in a battle despite his bitty form.

Rebounding her attention back to the exuberant lady beside her, she nodded, silently giving her the approval she craved.

Content on her answer, the lady beamed widely and continued to cheer for the lithe Knight. Returning her view to the fighting ring, the young Wife eagerly surveyed the rest of the scene.

Usually, she wasn't one to visit Tournaments, they've always left a bad taste in her mouth. Fighting was something she greatly despised, and she would have preferred it if these things were not the top of Icetonia's leading entertainment.

The only reason she attended was for Louis's sake. He enjoyed doing these competitions.

Brawling, Jousting, Fencing, and wrestling; her Husband had a blast with them all! Of course, knowing about her fears and dislikes, he always told her that she had no need to attend. Just saying good luck and kissing him on the cheek was enough for him apparently.

However, she constantly felt terrible for missing out on the sporty seasons. She always wondered if Louis felt incomplete without her support in the crowds.

So this time, the young Wife decided to watch her Husband win this tourney.

She observed, intrigued, as the smaller Knight knocked his next victim's helm off their head, exposing their indigo colored hair. Seeing him beat opponent after opponent flawlessly clearly left an impression on Cotton. No doubt, this man was finely trained, and quite impressive too!
