Just another day

Next morning:

I was awake for the last 20 mins or so, I just refused to open my eyes. I had no energy in getting up and going to classes. Still, I could hear my roommates whispered about. Peeping out of one eye, I noticed they were surrounded around my bed. Hearing someone hush the others, I quickly closed my eye.

"I saw you, Athena." Hermione sung.

"You didn't see anything. I am still asleep." Lifting my head, I pulled the pillow out and slammed it over my face. "See still asleep."

"I swear you are nothing, but a child." Hermione huffed.

"Professor Snape is asking for you." Ginny said.

I glared at my pillow. "Tell him I'm sick."

"Is that so?" I heard a collection of gasp, which confirmed I had indeed heard her voice. "Get yourself ready Ms. Black. Snape will be waiting for you in his office."

I waited until I no longer heard her footsteps. Tossing the pillow off me, I groaned loudly. "What's the penalty for hexing a teacher?" Tossing my pillow at Hermione, I raised a finger. "Don't answer that."

After having showered and dressed, I made my way to Snape's office. Usually, when one was to walk into his office, you were in trouble. Just as I reached his door, Ian came staggering out bumping into me. My hands came to his shoulders, stopping him from falling to the ground.

"Ian, you alright?" The man was sweating. His shirt was damped, making it seem as if he had been dumped into the lake. He was quivering, his muscles tensed. "Ian?"

"Y-yeah, I'm fine." Shrugging me off, he stumbled down the corridor. "I have to get to class."

"W-"

"Athena."

I turned to find Snape at the door, gesturing for me to walk in. I glanced back down the corridor, hoping to see Ian. I knew we weren't on the best of terms, but I still cared for him. Before I could act on my thoughts, I was pulled into the office. Sirius shut the door behind us, stalking past me. "Was that really necessary?"

"Yes." Snap said. "I don't like repeating myself."

"What happened to Ian?"

Snape took a seat at his desk, grabbing the paper in front of him. "That is none of your concern."

"Ian is still my friend, regardless of what happened yesterday."

"Friend?" Snape looked up with a raised brow. "The boy assaulted you and you still call him a friend?"

"Yes." I snipped. "I don't know about you, but I don't give up on people so easily."

"There will come a time when you will." Snape said.

Leaning on one of the tables, I crossed my arms. "You asked I come here. What do you need?"

"Dumbledore has granted you a pass of absence to all your classes today." Snape picked up his papers once more, holding them up to cover his face. "You are free to do as you wish."

"And you had me come down for that?" I scoffed, flinging my arms up in annoyance. "You were literally in Gryffindor's common room, you could have told me there."

"Just because you are not required to be at class, you should not spend it in bed Athena." Snape said, still not looking past his papers. "I wanted to ensure you got up and grabbed something to eat."

"What do you care if I sleep all day or skip breakfast, you are not my fath-" I stopped mid-word, just then realizing what I was about to say. "Thank you for letting me know Profess0r Snape." I kept telling myself not to turn around. To keep my mouth shut. To just keep walking. But in the end, I couldn't stop myself from turning around. "Did you even want me?"
