"So, where are we going next, Bonteri?"
"Is that how one addresses their betrothed, Ahsoka?" Lux teased.
Ahsoka blushed again, linking her arm with his. The two had been walking through the market for about an hour by then, happily cracking jokes and playfully flirting. Lux lightly teasing Ahsoka about the 'betrothed' comment was an efficient way to hide how flustered the statement had made him at first.
Secretly, inside his pocket, Lux kept a small surprise for Ahsoka which he had bought while she was distracted. The little box felt heavy in his pocket, although he tried to ignore it. It wasn't a big deal. Just a memento, really, before she left. It didn't matter too much (or so he told himself as he held hands with the most beautiful woman he'd ever seen).
"Since you asked, darling," Lux added, eliciting a playful shove from his companion. "I think I know a marvelous place."

Ahsoka breathed in the cool afternoon air as Lux led her to an ornate stone archway. She gasped as she set eyes on what lay beyond. If she thought the Bonteri estate was beautiful, its garden didn't compare to this.
Statues dotted the garden, figures of lovers and heroes alike. The enormous fountain in the center of the garden held up two figures, a man and a beautiful woman dancing.
The scent of exotic flowers filled the air from every corner, flowing around them in a haze of soft and sweet perfumes. Ahsoka stepped into the garden tentatively, inhaling deeply to catch every smell in a moment. The gentle sweetness of the flowers invited her in warmly, like a soft embrace pulling her in.
Beside the stone paths, many low-hanging branches just brushed the path. The branches were thin and flowed down like a waterfall. The leaves were a pale white, and almost translucent. These trees were unfamiliar to Ahsoka, but beautiful nonetheless.
All put together, it was obvious that Lux had chosen such a romantic spot on purpose.
"You told me that at the Jedi temple, the courtyard does have a small garden." said Lux. "I take it that it isn't much like this?"
"You certainly do know how to surprise me, Lux." she joked, brushing the wavy branches with her fingertips. "What kind of trees are these?"
"Raxus willow trees." Lux replied, leaning against the trunk of one. "You can't find them anywhere else."
"That's incredible," said Ahsoka. "but why is this place so quiet?"
"It used to be famous." said Lux. "Now that the war's going on, tourists don't have much time to come here. It's nice though. I come here whenever I need to relax, or........if I need some time alone."
Lux sat down at the base of the tree, patting the ground beside him. Ahsoka rolled her eyes.
"Smooth, Bonteri." she said simply, seating herself at his side. "I'll give you that."
"Why, thank you."
The sunlight filtered through the willow leaves, casting pinkish light over the young couple. Ahsoka groaned internally.
When did my life become a cheesy holo-romance?
Not that she was complaining much.
The two sat in silence for a moment before Lux decided to take her hand and look deeply into her blue eyes. "Have I ever told you how beautiful you are?"
Ahsoka rolled her eyes, but smiled at him impishly.
"Only about three or thirty times when I, uh, read your mind."
Lux blushed, fidgeting a little bit.
"It was sweet, really." Ahsoka added, still smirking. "But how about I say how I feel about you?"
Lux's brow furrowed. "What?"
"You're kind," Ahsoka began.
"Wait, Ahsoka," Lux sputtered, cheeks reddening. Clearly he did not take compliments well.
"handsome," she continued, leaning in a little more each time.
"Ahsoka, c-come on. Y-you're making me blush."
"funny,"
"....oh my Force." whispered Lux. Ahsoka's face was about two inches from his, and he couldn't deny he liked it.
Ahsoka batted her eyes at him, tapping his nose playfully.
".....and adorable when you're nervous."
Lux was completely stunned. It wasn't normal for her to be so forward. She seemed to have gained a lot of confidence from him being so clearly flustered.
She was still in front of him, drumming her delicate fingers on his shoulder as she gazed into his eyes. Lux wanted her to move, to kiss him, to do anything. Anything that would cut the tension.
Then it hit him. Perhaps it was his turn to take the lead.
Slowly, gently, he leaned forward with his eyes closed. He licked his lips ever-so-subtly, parting them just so as they met hers.
Ahsoka's lips were plush and soft against his as she relaxed into his touch, kissing back with equal tenderness. Her arms wrapped around his shoulders as his hands awkwardly reached her back. Lux wasn't quite sure where to put his hands, afraid to touch her in a way she didn't like or was uncomfortable with. After a minute of nervous fumbling, he settled on her waist. Ahsoka's hand reached up, stroking through his brown hair. He nuzzled deeper into her touch, breaking away momentarily to let out a pleased sort of gasp. Ahsoka giggled, bringing his lips back to hers with a sweet passion. Lux was rather nervous to be too forward, so he decided to keep it relaxed for their first kiss.
Much to Lux's alarm, a certain feeling just below his stomach became abundantly clear. He prayed to the Force that Ahsoka wouldn't notice, it could ruin the moment. With a resigned sigh, he broke away from the beautiful Togruta's touch.
"What's wrong?" said Ahsoka, still petting his hair.
"I, um, just realized that my mom's probably waiting for us." he lied, smiling awkwardly. "Shall we, Miss Tano?"
Ahsoka nodded, looking a little disappointed.
The gift for her still sat in Lux's pocket, now feeling heavier as the speeder stopped before them to bring them home.
