Metroid: Ascendance

The Last Betrayal .

It was sunny outside and the exterior of the station felt brand new compared to the ravaged interior. Samus jogged along the roof she was on, she was several stories above the red soil. Stiletto fighters flew overhead and a transport landed to deploy more soldiers ready to handle the horrors inside. A group of 6 soldiers were on the roof with her and they ran over with their guns at the ready. Unwilling to put up with this any longer she jumped and kicked one of them to the floor , punching another so hard that he fell to the ground below. She tripped a third soldier and blew apart the armour of the last 3. She leapt from the roof and slammed into the ground below. She sprinted over to a cargo ship nearby and kept her cannon focused on the dozen soldiers infront of her. She was now surrounded!

A figure stepped forward from the crowd and deactivated the protective layer of his visor to reveal his face underneath. His purple armour showcasing his rank above the others. It was Admiral Dane!

"What is the meaning of this!" Samus pointed her cannon back and forth .

He sighed and put a hand to his mouth. "Samus .. you and I have worked together quite a bit in recent times however I'm sure you can accept that there are certain things above your clearance."

"So your going to arrest me now? Is that ..."

He cut her off mid sentence

"You have been charged with the destruction of military property and the disclosure of highly classified information. "

"Maybe it would have worked out better for you if I wasn't kidnapped and held prisoner here while you lied to the galaxy!"

" you have proven quite resourceful to us many times but your reluctance to share your advancements in weaponry with us has been problematic to say the least. You didn't make it easy but we did what we had to do. But you've ruined our work and what we have achieved by stealing .."

"What belongs to me!. You can try to arrest to me but you know damn well that I could wipe out every single person on this planet a hundred times over if I have to. Do not test me!"

Admiral dane looked down at the ground . "You won't stand in the way of progress anymore."

Suddenly an electrical blast hit Samus from behind and wrapped itself around her waist , then another pinned her cannon to her side and finally a third one wrapped around her neck! Three round drones flew out from the cargo ship behind her and she was lifted into the air. Their specific beams had locked down her suit preventing her from deactivating it.

"Let me go! I'll kill you! I'll kill all of you!!"

"The advancements in war technology that will be made possible by you will be tremendous. The galactic federation will no longer have to worry about space pirates or the kriken empire or any other threat posed to civilisation. Gone are those days!" Admiral dane and his men cheered and Samus groaned in resistance.

"You've made a fatal mistake admiral. The chozo provided a contingency for me. " she slowly raised her arm and touched the green light on her left breast. An orange light shot out from her armour and the fusion suit shattered into pieces! Admiral dane bent down and picked up a piece of her broken visor.

"What did you do . What did you do!"

"If my weapons are to be used in dangerous hands than no one will ever touch them" she grinned.

"Missile offline"

"Super missile offline"

"Ice beam offline "

"Plasma beam offline"

"Nova beam offline "

"Wave beam offline "

Diffusion beam offline"

"Screw attack offline"

"Shinespark offline"

"Power bombs offline"

"Gauntlet offline "

"Hyper ball offline"

"Fusion suit offline"

"Gravity suit offline "

"X ray visor offline"

"Thermal visor offline"

"Scan visor offline"

"Now I am no use to you ! All of the Varia suit functions are gone forever. I would rather lose it all than let you recklessly abuse them a second time!" Samus yelled in anger.

Admiral dane looked at all the broken fusion suit pieces on the ground. "You've ruined everything! But no matter we will make do with whatever we have left and with whatever we can extract from the base varia suit you still have. Take her away!"

The drones pulled Samus into the cargo container of the ship and the last thing she saw before the doors closed were the soldiers picking up the broken pieces of the fusion suit . The engines soon started and the ship was taking off, bringing her who knows where. She was scared, angry , but also confused. Confused at how everything she had done for the admiral and the federation as a whole had led to this. She was degraded and being used as a Guinea pig when before she had been praised as a galactic saviour.

She struggled but the electric beams made escape impossible and she had consequently doomed herself by erasing all of her weapons. She managed to raise her cannon slightly and fired a shot at the wall which bounced and destroyed the drone holding her cannon. She aimed her cannon back and destroyed the other one holding her neck. . She reached up and punched a hole in the third drone which caused it to fall to the ground ,finally freeing her. She kneeled down and rewired the drone.

It booted back up and flew through a gap between the container and the cockpit. The drone opened fire and killed the pilots , hitting the control panels in the process. An alarm blared through the ship and suddenly the container doors opened and Samus was sucked into the vacuum of space! She spun around in circles getting farther and father away from the ship by the second. She no longer had the gravity suit which meant she was in trouble! And it would be a long time before anyone came looking for the ship. She was stranded on her own flying farther away from the ship , hope for survival fleeing her body every passing second.

"So this... is how it ends " no one would find her but perhaps this was for the best. If she died than atleast her tech would be lost to the federation forever. Her thoughts began drifting to Anthony and she wondered if he had been arrested and she wondered if weavel had escaped too. Would Anthony ever truly find out what happened her? Would society remember her? Would they mourn her loss? Her mind started to get fuzzy as the dizziness of her constant spinning took its toll on her body. Her suit began to lock down in order to keep her alive if she feel unconscious. But she felt it didn't matter , it was only delaying the inevitable at this point.

The darkness of space was consuming her and soon she would disappear among the stars just like she always had. But with the information of the federation's actions now known to the public thanks to Anthony she could atleast be assured one thing , it wouldn't end here, the public would take action and if she died than she would be avenged in spirit.
