They reached the end of a dark corridor and were about to enter an elevator when suddenly the door burst open and a scientist fell to the ground as a space pirate tackled her out of the elevator. The pirate beat the scientist to a bloody pulp and right as it was about to finish her off anthony took it by surprise with his rifle. Samus rushed over to the scientist.
"What's going on here !"
The scientist looked up and reached her hand out for Samus.
"S. Samus ...a.aran. W.w.why"
"I know you know what happened here. Why was I locked up for 7 months . What have you created!"
"T.took your suit. They took your upgraded suit..."
"The metroid suit! It was removed from my armour when I was attacked!" Samus gasped
"Created... nightmare. They made an AI ... escaped. ... built from the suit "
The scientist died and Samus got to her feet slowly. Anthony rubbed his jaw .
"That's why you were unconscious and kept hidden. They took an upgrade from you?"
"On SR388 I gained an armour upgrade from the last metroid and when they knocked me unconscious they took it from me. Of course! The federation have always been after my weapons. They have always wanted to acquire my technology so they could advance their own. Their no different from the pirates! I always refused and so they took advantage of the situation and stole what they could from me. They must have used that suit to create this thing they call nightmare. And with access to that kind of power it would stand to reason that this machine ... this monster would have a lot of the same abilities as me. If it has all or even some of my weapons than what happened here suddenly makes much more sense. It's why they wanted to keep it all hidden. They were trying to reverse engineer chozo technology and create the ultimate fighting machine but it backfired. "
"And the rest of monsters here must have followed afterwards."
"They must be trying to experiment with pirate technology too . Otherwise why would they take prisoners? To top it off the pirates were successful in reverse engineering some of my beam weapons. It all makes sense!"
"We can't possibly take on the nightmare. Even when you reacquire your armour you might not be strong enough to fight it."
"I have to try. It's our only hope "
In that moment Samus could feel her brain returning to normal and with that she focused all her concentration on her body, she exploded in orange light as particles manifested themselves around her and her armour took form. The varia suit was finally back! Now she could actually get things done!.
Anthony chuckled and eyed her up and down "last time we were together you still had the old armour "
Samus looked at herself and felt relieved that she now had everything back. "This solves part of the problem doesn't it" she joked.
"What if we can upgrade your armour again somehow? There has to be a way!"
"Anthony I think we should split up for now. If there is a way to do that than we'll stand a better chance at finding it if we search separately. I'll contact you by com ".
"And here I was getting used to being around you again. Ah you never cease to amaze me . Be careful"
