"Kai?" I questioned before I could process what I was saying."I think you have the wrong guy." The man I was standing across from spoke softly.
"No I don't think I do." I spoke with utter confidence that manifested out of nowhere. I was always naturally confident, but for the last few years it's been tucked away. "I know it's you Kai Chisaki." This grasped his attention enough and he began to take the hood off his head and take another, closer, look at me. I didn't know that you could miss an old friend so much until I saw the look on Kai's face.
"(Y/n)..." he spoke through a thick mask.
"I've missed you Kai..." I said with a certain warmth in my heart.
"Look, this reunion was nice and all, but you really can't be involved with me (y/n)." Kai almost arrogantly spouted. That was when my smile dipped. After all this time I don't remember him being this cocky. I mean who did he think he was to say I couldn't be involved with him. Did he even know what losing him did to me? Did he even know it tortured me?
Right before I was about to retaliate to Kai's remark, he stood up and spoke again. "You really should go. I know you don't understand but you really should just forget about me."
"Kai Chisaki! I will never just forget about you!" I nearly yelled and moved towards him pulling him into a deep hug. His entire body tensed quickly and he pushed me away from his grasp almost horrified. "You don't have any hives if that's what you're worried about." I then spoke in a softer tone, still projecting though.
I couldn't believe he nearly forgot. The one person who never gave him hives from touch, was me. Kai then touched his face for a good second and a half before then grabbing my hands. The obviously touch deprived man was now eager for any sense of a feeling he could get.
"I hope you know I never forgot about you either (y/n). But I'm serious when I say you need to leave." He pressed.
"And what if I stay." I straightly said with a half smile curved on my lips and my eyes wide with joy.
Almost as if right when I said that a pro hero that I couldn't recognize at first walked in the cafe.
"Quick, just sit down!" Kai then ushered me into the booth with him. I sat across from him and he pulled his hood back up and over his auburn hair. Even though so many years have gone by since we were last together, it really did seem like his features didn't age a bit. Except for his obvious taller stature and a wider chest with much larger shoulders than 14 year old Kai Chisaki had.
"Look it's pro hero Nighteye!" I heard a few other people in the cafe speak up upon the arrival of the hero. The hero obviously had to be here looking for something. There was no way a pro hero would just walk into a small cafe in the inner city without looking for something. Especially at this hour.
It seemed Kai was acting really weird the second Nighteye walked into the cafe. I mean when we were younger he was a member of the Yakuza, so maybe he's still tied to them and that's why he doesn't want to be seen. But then again it's been so many years. I wouldn't have any idea what he'd be up to. I wouldn't be surprised if he was a completely different person.
Sorry for the short chapter, I just really wanted to get this one out!! The next chapter will be out before the 25th!!! Happy holidays!!
