"Gustave go get in your suit!"
He was running around the room, running from me. I don't know what has gotten into him.
"Gustave! It's almost time for the wedding. Please go now!"
I ordered him and have him a stern look as I stopped chasing him. He knew that look meant I was serious.
"Yes father!"
He peeped and scrambled to his room. I shook my head and went to the mirror in the hall. This one didn't open like the one back in Paris, but there was one on my office that went to the stage. The look on the contractors face when I asked him to build it was priceless. A soft chuckle escaped my lips as I dusted myself off and slicked my hair. Christine was with Madame Giry, getting ready.
"Papa!
Yes Gustave?
I need help. Please?"
He called from his room. I went to him and smiled. His vest wasn't on right, and he needed help with the bow tie. Otherwise he was fine. I crouched down and fixed his vest the started on his tie.
"What does this mean papa? Are things going to be different?
No Gustave. Mama is taking my name finally."
I smile and put my hand to his chin.
"We'll all be called Destler.
Oh! Alright."
He nodded understandingly.
"Well,"
I took a look at my pocket watch.
"We need to be leaving. I cannot be late for my own wedding."
I smiled and ruffled Gustave's hair.
"Hey!"
I chuckled at him as he frantically fixed it.
We took a carriage to church. It was all decorated in everything Christine had picked. White ribbons and pink roses. Just as pink as her cheeks. I smiled at all my employs from Phantasma that sat in the pews.
"Sorry I'm late, he didn't want to dress."
I chuckled and squeezed Gustave's shoulders. We made our way to the alter and waited for Christine. I handed him a box with our wedding bands. It was a bit untraditional to have your son as your best man, but we agreed it was what we wanted.
"Keep it in your pocket until the minister asks for the rings right?"
He nodded and put the little red box in his pocket. Just then the doors opened and the organist started playing a wedding march.
