Everyone turned to see Christine. She looked like an angel to me, always but this dress wow. The white fabric cascaded around her like wings that gently flowed to the ground. I hadn't even noticed Madame Giry walking beside her. Tears formed in my eyes. I tried to blink them away, but instead they rolled down my cheeks. Gustave looked up at me in confusion and I gave him a reassuring smile.
After what felt like an eternity Madame Giry gave me Christine's hand with an approving nod. I looked her in the eye through the veil and saw she was crying too. We turned to the minister who started to read from the bible. I kept glancing sideways at her, she was sniffling and wiping her eyes. Probably feeling the same happiness and relief I felt. After another few minutes the minister asked for the rings.
"Oh here!"
Gustave smiled and everyone in attendance chuckled. I took the box from him and handed Christine my ring and kept hers. We quickly said our vows, changing them a bit. Instead of "Death do you part" we changed it to "The end of time" because our love for each other would not die with us.
"With this ring, I thee wed."
She smiled and slipped the ring on my finger.
"With th-this ring, I thee w-wed."
I sniffled, realizing that in a moment, she'd finally be mine forever.
"By the power vested in me.."
I didn't hear anything he said until "kiss the bride" oh and I did. I pulled up her veil and kissed her with all my might, as if it were going to be our last. Small moans bubbled to my lips but I suppressed them, we were in a church in front of our friends and family. Neither of us wanted to break the kiss, but if I didn't it wouldn't end.
I pulled away and looked her in the eye.
"I love you, so much mon ange. Thank you for staying."
I smiled and wiped my eyes.
"I had to stay for you Erik. I needed to do this."
She motioned to the ceremony that was taking place. I chuckled and pecked her lips.
