Chapter Nine: Car Ride

unedited

Everything happened so quickly, and it felt like a blur. The poor man who had been dancing with me suddenly found himself on the ground, pinned down by none other than Silas Petrova. My mind couldn't comprehend the events unfolding before me. When Beverly mentioned that Silas was possessive, I never could have imagined he would go to such degree.

"You son of a bitch, Finn, that's Baby, you idiot," Silas roared, pummeling Finn with punch after punch.

My eyes widened in disbelief as the realization sank in. Oh shit. It was Finn Wade that I had danced with. Finn Wade's hands were all over me. His fucking best friend.

Finn snapped back, his anger matching Silas's. "How the hell was I supposed to know what she looks like, you fucking asshole?" He swung and dodged Silas's punches, fueling the intense exchange.

Confused and uncertain, I considered whether I should intervene. I had never experienced anything like this before. My gaze turned to Raia, who seemed equally stunned, but quickly regained composure and moved toward the ongoing fight.

"Silas, stop it!" Raia shouted, attempting to get the boys' attention. However, their focus was far from wavering. Thankfully, several frat guys promptly came to assists him, restraining Silas and Finn to the best of their abilities, but it was still a struggle to hold them back.

Silas shot one more intense stare at Finn before shifting his gaze to me, his eyes holding the same cold glare. I swallowed hard, feeling uneasy under the weight of his unwavering stare.

Silas was released from the grip of the frat guys and wasted no time storming toward me. I couldn't help but feel a mix of fear and unease at his intense anger.

Without saying a word, he forcefully latched onto my wrist and began hauling me through the gathered crowd. My eyes darted around, desperately searching for Beverly or any hint of the girls, but we had already distanced ourselves from them.

The night's cool air brushed against my face, signaling that we were now outside.

"Silas, stop!" I pleaded, hoping he would listen. I could only see his back as he continued to pull me forcefully along.

I let out an even louder cry. "I said stop!" Amazingly, he actually halted, coming to a standstill on the sidewalk near the house.

Silas suddenly turned to face me, his intense gaze unflinching. For a few tense minutes, he remained silent, his eyes locked on mine. "What the fuck was that?" he finally snapped.

I quickly attempted to explain, "I didn't know that was─" but he cut me off.

"It doesn't fucking matter who it was!" he yelled, causing me to instinctively flinch at his outburst.

"Don't pretend to care now when you vanished for two weeks, not saying a word, nothing. As if I even care, but it's not fair for you to be yelling at me." I defiantly crossed my arms and averted my gaze, only to look up and find Silas closing the distance between us.

He was now mere inches away from me, his intense presence making me swallow nervously as I quickly looked away, focusing in on the people outdoors watching us closely.

I remained facing away from him, struggling to maintain my resolve, but his hand on my face gently yet firmly forced me to turn and meet his gaze. The feel of his rings, cool and metallic pressed firmly against my skin, sent shivers down my spine. A warm blush creeped up my cheeks, and I could feel electricity running through my veins. The proximity was overwhelming, and I was acutely aware of how close we were. I've never been this close to another person, especially a man before. Except... with him. This utterly foreign to me.
