Oblivious

Chapter 1- You Have a Reputation

Amity POV: 

"Mittens!!"

     That's all I hear as I wake up, Emira and Edric screaming 'Mittens' in the hopes that I'll come downstairs.

     The door bursts open, in annoyance, I put a pillow over my head. I scream,

"Go away!!"

     But instead of being answered by something like, 'We're just trying to help you, Mittens!' I'm answered by an angered mother. 

"Amity!!"

     She stomps her foot on the ground and races over to my bed. She pulls the pillow out from over my head.

"Get up. Now!"

     I lay there like a lifeless body. Which, quite frankly I am at this point.

"no-"

     My voice is muffled, but she could hear me. And sirens must have sounded in her head because of it. My mother hated it when we didn't 'Obey' her. But she was my mother, and she didn't control my every move.

"Amity Blight!! How dare you, or so help me!!"

     She pulls me out of the bed, I fall onto the floor, I look up at her as she throws my bag at me, it hits my chest. I can barely breathe. I sit up trying to regain oxygen. Truth is. If I'm even a little bit late, for a reason like I just overslept, my parents will go to extreme measures to punish me for it. So today I almost got killed! But hey, what else is new.

     Emira and Edric come running in. From time to time they can be compassionate, especially when it involves our parents hurting me. But they always ruin it somehow.

"Mittens!"

     Emira sits next to me and hands me my bag, I just nod. I'm unable to talk at the moment. And she seems nervous.

"They can't keep doing that to you"

     Edric just stays standing, watching Emira try to calm me down.

     Eventually, when I'm feeling better, they leave. But I can hear them in the hallway still talking about it.

" I hate this"

"I know, so do I."

"We went through this, and the last thing I want is to watch our sister have to go through it as well."

"We still do from time to time."

"Yeah, yeah, I know."

"But It's like they have her now, so she's their new target"

"Exactly."

     They both sigh, and I hear them begin to walk down the stairs. I stand up and look in the mirror, fixing my hair. 

     Once I'm done and I've got my uniform on, I head out. I wave to Emira and Edric. They can see the sadness in my eyes. Because, I don't deserve this, and the twins didn't deserve it either, and I hate that this is my life-

     But the one thing I don't hate?

     Luz.

     She's over there with Willow and Gus, she's laughing. To be honest now I laughed a little bit.

     It's weird because her name means light but, she is the light of my life. And I know that's kinda cheesy, but to be honest I'm faced with hatred when I get home, so she is.

"Amity!"

     Dangit she noticed me! 

     I try to hide my face in my spell book, and pretend I didn't see her. But she comes over anyway to talk.

"Hey Amity! The weirdest thing happened last night!"

"Oh haha... w-what is it?"

"Well I realized that I'm in love-"

     My face went red. Love? Who? But instead of saying anything normal, or anything at all, the only words I could find were.

"Wow love?!?! Ahaha, who said anything about love- cause I TOTALLY AM NOT IN LOVE- ahaha..."

     She looked at me confused.

"You know, I gotta go!"

     I speedran to building, and as quickly as I could, I made my way to the abomination classroom. The abomination class teacher was standing in front.

"Youre early Miss. Blight. What's the occasion"

     I had to snap out of my 'I'm in love with the human girl and I cant control my feelings' panic and switch to 'Little Miss Perfect'

"There's no occasion, I just felt like being on time, well, earlier than on time. I want to prepare for the exam."

     I was thanful that there was an exam today, because it gave an excuse.

"An excellent reasoning! There's a reason that you are our top student"

"Thank you."

    After the last abomination incident, Willow became top student. But that wasn't a real abomination, and it was Luz, therefore I regained my title. Well, I did once the Emporer's Coven helped to repair the Abomination classroom. Which was only finished last week.

     I take a seat in the front, opening up my spell book. I needed to clear my mind. I fliped through pages, and landed on one I had bookmarked. 

"What have you found Miss. Blight?"

     I look up at him.

"I was revieweing a page I had bookmarked."

"What was it?"

"It was-"

     I look down at the page to tell the teacher. But it's covered in sketches of me drawn by Luz. But I hadn't bookmarked this. I didnt know this existed. 

"Miss. Blight?"

"Sorry sir, these are-"

     I look down at the paper one last time. When I see something written with an arrow pointing to the drawing of me. It says, 'She's so pretty <3' 

     I go red.

     Trying to maintain myself I stand up.

"Just some, you know, light spells. To make abominations out of light. And I really have to get something now, so- bye"

     I slip out the classroom. Burying my face into the book. How am I so dumb?!? I was ruining my reputation. I never just leave. I never not finish my sentence. Luz was going to ruin all of this.

     I see her gathering things from her locker, i head the other way.

     But it's not her fault she's cute, and sweet and-

     I mean. Uh....

     Walking the other way, I pass Boscha. For some reason she wanted to talk to me.

"Amity"

"What?"

"U-Um... I need your advice"

     My advice? Why does she think I'm going to give her advice?

"Yeah... no."

"Amity, please."

     I can't help myself. I want to know her life problems.

"Fine. What is it?"

"Well, um"

"Yeah."

"Uh."

"Boscha, just tell me already. I'm listening."

"Fine. How do you tell someone you like them?"

What?!?!?
