Raven's POV
I started to stir in my slumber, my eyes finally opening after what it seemed like a decade but I knew it wasn't as the blood moon was over. I noticed that the windows were covered by the blacked out red curtains, making me wonder who closed them. It could have been Flora, my perfect mate but she wasn't in the room. It also could have been one of the servants.
I sat up gracefully, stretching my arms out before I moved away from the bed and then grabbed my dark blue robe from my wardrobe. I wrapped it around myself, then walked out of the room to see where my mate went. Since I marked her, I can track her easily. Her scent drove me wild, it was like an addiction that I couldn't get enough of.
"Do you feel weird about being marked by the Queen?" I heard Polly talking to Flora from the dining room, making me slowly walk towards it as I went down the stairs and not making a sound. But, it was a bit too late as my mate was already looking at me. She then turned her head to look at her best friend with a small smile on her face. "This may seem funny, but I actually don't feel weird about being marked by her. It was the best experience I ever had in my life." she told her.
That was the sweetest thing I have heard in a long time. I walked over to my mate before I placed my hand on her shoulder. "Can I speak to Polly for a moment?" I asked her gently, watching her nod at me as she stood up from the chair. I noticed that they both had something to eat and drink, so that was a good healthy sign.
"Where do you want me to go?" my mate asked me, "I want you to go outside in the garden for some fresh air. It is not very far from here, just go into the kitchen and turn right. There is a large white door there which leads out." I replied, giving her a few simple instructions. She nodded, before she gave me a small kiss on the cheek and followed my instructions.
I turned my head to look at Polly, making her freeze. "I would like to say congratulations for finding your mate, Patricia. I have decided to let you go and be with her for good."
"Really? I want to see Flora all the time though..." she said to me, making me frown a little as soon as she said that. "Of course you will see her everyday. You will still be living here." I told her. I watched her smile at me, letting out a small sigh of relief.
She then placed her hand against the left side of her neck, rubbing it softly. "How was the...session last night?" I decided to ask her, since I was getting a tiny bit concerned. "She was gentle at first, before she got a tiny bit rougher with me towards the end of the moon." she answered.
"Oh..." I said, immediately realising that Patricia had only been recently turned a few weeks ago before she came here. She was an very upset vampire too, kept screaming her lungs out and begged for someone to end her pain in a cage.
"Babe? Are you finished with your lunch?" Patricia asked her mate, making me snap out of it and walked out of the room to have a nice shower to relax myself.
