Chapter 16 - Failed To Escape

Flora's POV

I opened my eyes, revealing nothing but darkness as it was night time. That was it. I had enough of this place. I had to escape, but I knew if I do it...Raven would be after me quickly. She was a dangerous vampire, and a scary one too. I lied to myself when I said that I loved her. She had me under her spell, no wonder why I was being so romantic towards her. 

Since it was night however...I wanted Polly to escape with me, but I don't want to piss off Patricia. So I was on my own for now at least. I took a small deep breath before I noticed that Raven wasn't actually in the room...this meant I had a chance of escaping. Fuck, why was I having second thoughts about this? 

It wasn't a blood moon, not for a while hopefully so I should be safe. Right. Time to do this. Time to actually get out of here. 

I walked towards the wardrobe and opened it, looking for anything to pack some clothes in. I kept on looking at the door, in case of Raven. I didn't know where she was, which was a good and also a bad sign as she was...my mate. Guilt then struck my beating heart. She said that she had been searching for me, but why? I was just a innocent human. 

I looked back into the wardrobe and saw that there was nothing. It was like she knew. Suddenly, I heard the door open, making me quickly turn to see Raven. "It is not what it looks like, I wasn't planning to escape...-"

"Don't even try to lie. I marked you, remember? That means I can hear your thoughts loud and clear." she told me, her voice raising a little at me as she cut me off. I then looked down and slowly raised up my arms for some stupid reason. I heard her high heels click against the wooden floor as she walked over to me. 

She closed the wardrobe door in front of me, before she let out a small sigh. "I got no choice but to punish you." she then said, causing me to feel like I wanted to cry. But, it was right. 

"What punishment do you think I should have?" I asked her. 

"You will have to sit in a cage." 

"For how long?"

"Two days. Only because you are my mate."
