Suyin rubs the temples of her head as she walks out of the palace. She looks up into the sky taking a deep breath before opening and closing her fist a few times. Something wasn't right. Somehow, it felt a little harder to move. And her body seemed heavier than usual too.

Things had been off since the solstice. First there was the tsunami that devastated most of the Earth Kingdom. Then there was a worldwide flood followed by an impromptu ice age. And to top it all off the Avatar was now blind.

Suyin releases a sigh while walking across the pavilion toward the medical compound. It had truly been one thing after another. And while the world was moving forward, she took on the task of cleaning up the mess left behind.

Two guards greet her at the door. One of them hands her a clipboard.

Suyin flips through a few pages. "So, how is she today?"

"The cap...I mean...the prisoner is recovering remarkably fast commander. The doctors say that she should be able to walk on her own by the end of the year." The guard says with excitement.

Suyin nods. They then use a mix of bending and machinery to open the thick platinum doors. Suyin enters and they close the door behind her. She walks down a long hallway where another set of guards unlocks the door.

Kuvira immediately finds Suyin's eyes the moment she walks in. She smirks softly. "What a pleasant surprise." The former captain of the guard says while intently examining the matriarch.

Suyin looks away while heading to the medicine cabinet. She pulls a platinum key from her pocket. "I told you to stop looking at me like that."

Kuvira turns toward her. "Like what?"

Suyin takes a few vials from the shelf. "Like you want something you know I can't give you." She picks up a needle and inserts it into one of the bottles.

The young captain smiles sweetly, rolls up her sleeve, then holds out her arm. "Can't or won't?"

Their eyes lock as Suyin walks over to her. "Both." She gives the captain a shot.

Kuvira inhales softly and lays back against the pillows. "If that were true you wouldn't be the one coming here to give me these shots throughout the week. You could have assigned one of the generals to my detail." She takes Suyin's hand as the woman picks up another vial. "I meant what I said back then. Su, you were all I..."

The matriarch pulls her hand away. "I'm giving you these shots personally because you are too dangerous and skilled to be left alone with anyone else." She walks back over to the cabinet.

Kuvira lowers her eyes and smirks for a moment. "I started having this reoccurring dream about you a month ago." She watches Su switch out the vials. "Ironically enough, it happened just as it had a few weeks after the solstice. You came to visit me here in this very room. I told you how I felt about you. You told me that things would never work out between us. And that you could never forget I grew up alongside your children. But in my dream..." She clears her throat. "...you kissed me." Kuvira takes in a slow deep breath. "You said you wanted me to be happy but that it couldn't ever be with you." She looks at Su. "We made love. And you said if the world is still here tomorrow..."

Suyin furrows her brow as she finishes Kuvira's sentence. "This doesn't leave this room." She turns to the captain. "You said you started having that dream a month ago?" Kuvira nods. Suyin is deep in thought for a moment. This couldn't be a coincidence. "Besides the dream what else have you been experiencing?"
