Azula sits alone in her cabin nursing a bottle of fire flake mead staring at her reflection in the mirror. She closes her eyes for a moment as the heat of the alcohol eases down her throat. An involuntary hiss escapes her lips. The longer she stared into the mirror the angrier she became. Just the thought of an impudent, crazed child controlling her body was infuriating.
She had no memory of her previous life, but she'd heard and read enough stories to understand the danger her regression could cause. Azula lowers her eyes thinking of her partners. Just the thought of the former princess hurting them made her blood boil, especially considering what she had just done to them. A tear trickles down her cheek. She'd definitely done the right thing no matter how much pain it caused her. Mako and Ty La would be safe if they stayed away from her.
Azula continues to stare into her reflection as questions form in her mind. Then for the first time in what she knew as her life she questioned her creators. "Why? Why did you choose me? Why did you make me human? Why did you make me susceptible to these emotions? You made me your guardian. You made me your champion. Why? All the love I have is for you, but you allowed me to share it with others. I don't understand! You made me incapable of understanding. All I know is to trust in your will. What do you want from me?"
She shakes her head and sighs before taking another sip of mead. She wonders what Ty La and Mako were up to. It stung to care about them so much, but she needed to put them out of her mind. After what she did to them she no longer had the right to call them her partners.
A tired weary hand lifts the bottle. It was certainly doing its work subtly soothing her emotions with each sip. She wasn't by any means drunk. By all accounts she couldn't get completely inebriated even if she wanted to, but it was enough to keep her calm for a while.
She needed to rest. She hadn't slept since she received the news of her impending destruction. If this went on any longer she wouldn't need to wait to lose her mind. She sits the bottle on the table then takes a seat on the bed. "At least let me rest."
Bear Borough
Upper North Side of Republic City
Wy and Enna's House
"You're going out again?" Enna sits at her desk typing out legal documents. She was a clerk at the president's office. She glances at her husband before refocusing her attention.
Wy smirks then walks over giving her a gentle peck on the lips. "I'll be back later. Lunch was great by the way."
"Thanks, but I need you alive if we're going to visit your dad next week." Enna says.
Wy picks up his duffle bag. "I know. I know."
"I told you it would be a good idea to take some time away from the gym. You haven't fully recovered. Isn't one of your ribs still broken?" Enna says.
"It's fine." Wy heads to the front door.
"You're doing it again." Enna takes a breath and places her hands in her lap.
"Doing what?" Wy says stopping to put on his shoes.
"You're running away from me." She says softly. She and Wy hadn't spoken much since the incident with Asami Sato almost a month ago. Wy told her everything. They even had dinner with the CEO a few times before that. The heiress was an amazing person, but Enna couldn't help her feelings. The man had never cheated on her but after meeting Asami she couldn't help but be nervous. "Are you still seeing her?" She says quietly.
Wy stops at the door and turns to look at his wife. "No, I already told you there's nothing going on between Asami and I."
"Then why did her fiancé assault you?" Enna balls her hands into fists against her lap.
