"So, talk to me then." Louis sighed, as we sat down at a table in the corner of Starbucks.
I took one of the coffees off the tray and took a sip, burning my tongue in the process.
"Lou, I really don't know what you want me to say." I sighed, taking another sip of my coffee.
"I want you to talk to me. I can see right through you Sophie, just please, talk to me?" Louis begged.
"I don't even know. I've just found out that my abusive-ex, who committed suicide infront of Niall, Aiden, Emily and I is basically coming back to haunt me. His two best friends are out of prison. They're seeking revenge and they'll do anything. I'm so scared Lou. What if they hurt me, Niall, any of you guys, or even worse, Samuel? I don't know what I'd do. I'm so scared, I don't know what to think. They want to make my life a living hell and they want me dead." I whimpered, clutching tighter and tighter onto the cup of coffee, making me burn my hands.
"Listen to me, okay Soph? They won't go near you. You've got Niall, Aiden, Liam, Zayn, Harry and me. We're not going to let them hurt you, or Samuel. We'll all protect eachother. They're probably just trying to scare you. It'll all be okay, I promise," he smiled deeply. This actually made me feel a lot better.
"Thankyou Louis," I let out a smile.
"No problem love, let's get you home. You'll feel better," he smiled, standing up and picking up his coffee.
Louis really was one of my bestfriends. Most people at school found him loud, and irritating and stupid. But he wasn't like that. It was just a cover up. Yeah, sure he could be funny, but inside he was sweet, caring and kind. He wasn't just the 'funny' one of the group, he was probably the most caring. He'd always put others before himself and he always cheered people up.
We arrived at home and Louis came in.
"Aiden? I'm back!" I yelled, hoping he would be somewhere in the house.
He came running out of the kitchen, his face as white as a sheet. The second I saw his worried face, I broke down. I burst into tears, as he ran up to hug me. He held me tight, and just stood there whilst I cried and cried and cried.
"It's going to be okay, they won't hurt you," he whispered into my ear.
"Aiden, I'm so so scared," I whimpered, my voice barely reaching a whisper.
"I know you are, but it'll be okay. I promise," he soothed, as he pulled away, looking at me. He wiped away my remaining tears and have me a supportive smile.
We walked into the front room, and Emily, Niall and Louis were sat down. Emily and Niall were sat on one of the sofas whispering about something, whilst Louis was sat on the floor, with Samuel helping him build a Lego tower.
I threw myself next to Niall on the sofa and laid my head on his shoulder. He wrapped his arm around me and I snuggled into him.
"I love you," he whispered, kissing my temple.
Samuel kept chuckling really loudly every time Louis helped him make something. I felt the corners of my mouth turn up, at the fact that he was so young and innocent. He has no cares in the world, he doesn't know what's happening, he's a harmless little boy, my little nephew who I love with my life. I watched his big brown eyes look at Louis in wonder, as he made him a tower out of his Lego.
Samuel looked straight at me and gave me a toothy smile. He only has one tooth, which makes him look adorable. He stretched his chubby little arms out to me and cooed the words
"Soppy,"
I leaned off the sofa, and picked him up. He wrapped his arms around my neck and started to play with my hair. I gave him a small little kiss on the top of his head, and sat him on my knee so he was facing me.
Niall rested his chin on my shoulder and began to make funny faces to Samuel, making him giggle infectious laughter.
"Everything is gonna be alright you know," he murmured, wrapping his free arm around my waist.
"You don't know that. You're just saying that to make me feel better," I sighed, pressing my face lightly onto his, inhaling the scent of aftershave.
"I promise," he said, but it sounded as if he was questioning me.
"Niall, I don't want to talk about this right now. Can we forget about it for a bit?" I sighed again, picking Samuel up and sitting him down next to Louis, who has finished making him a tower. He gave it to Samuel who smiled back at him, giving a grin before starting to play with it.
Louis stood up off the floor, brushed his knees and ruffled his hair.
"Right, I best be off then," he smiled, making his way though the living room.
"I'll show you out," I smiled as I walked to the front door with him.
He was just about to open the door when I stopped him.
"Thank you for today Louis. I probably wouldn't have got through it, if it weren't for you," I smiled at the elder boy.
"It's no problem. Hey, cheer up. Forget about it for tonight. Enjoy watching a film with Niall or Aiden or Emily or even Samuel. Just enjoy yourself okay? And if you need me, just call me. Promise?"
"I promise. Thanks Lou, you're a true friend." I smiled, giving him a friendly hug.
