AHH TRIPLE UPDATE!! On another note, I am literally so mad right now. I wrote a whole draft of this chapter, and then I accidently deleted it, so here I am, attempting to rewrite a whole chapter. *sigh* Let's do it.
Asher
I walk back into the classroom, noticing that Annabeth was holding and rubbing Percy's hand. The rage I felt before swirled inside of me. I glared at Percy when Annabeth wasn't looking. I had a pretty scary glare, so I expected him to look away.
Instead he looked back. He didn't glare though. He stared at me, calm and cold. I shivered. He was pretty scary, but I wasn't going to back down.
As I walked back to my desk, near the middle of the class, we continued looking at each other.
Somehow, only a few people noticed. My eyes began to water. I blinked. Percy smirked slightly, an indication that he was the winner of our unspoken contest. I gritted my teeth and did my work in silence.
At least he couldn't-no, wouldn't- beat me in swimming. I've been captain for 2 years. And I knew Annabeth liked guys that swim. Or something
Jackson seemed like the type that does swimming. But maybe I just thought that because of his sea-green eyes. Whatever. If he did, then I'd totally destroy him in the tryouts tomorrow.

As I waited outside class for Annabeth and Percy, I planned a way to casually bring up swimming into the conversation. They arrived just as I had thought of a way to bring it up. Convenient- and a little weird. As we walked to gym, I learned that Percy and Annabeth had the same schedules, except for elective. I had only four classes with Annabeth, so it would be a lot harder for me to break them up. But I do like a challenge.
I took a small silence as a cue to ask Percy if he did any sports.
"I do basketball, and I also do swimming. Swimming is the most bestest sport ever!" he smiled. I hid a sneer at his grammar. I knew Annabeth hated when people had bad grammar.
"Seaweed Brain, bestest isn't a word." she giggled.
"W-well... Why'd you just use it in a sentence then?" he asked innocently. Annabeth opened her mouth, and closed it again, grimacing. Percy's excited grin showed that he didn't win a lot of arguments.
"S-so, Percy," I stammered, hating myself for stuttering in front of my crush, "if you like swimming, you should totally come to the tryouts after school tomorrow!"
"That sounds cool, thanks man!"
"No problem." I noticed we had reached the gym. Percy darted ahead and held open the door.
"After you, milady." He said, gesturing to Annabeth. She giggled and walked through the door. I gritted my teeth. Why was it that he could make her giggle so easily, when I tried so hard and failed.
"Ok, listen up cupcakes!" A sharp voice rang through the gym, jarring me from my thoughts. "I am your new gym teacher, Coach Hedge! Today we're going to run around the track for 20 minutes! Once you've finished that, stretch and then pick a workout from the board to do for the rest of the period! Your time starts...NOW!" He blew his whistle sharply.
A few students moved, but the rest were frozen, whether in fear or shock, I didn't know. I craned my neck and saw a short man, about 5 feet tall, with a wispy brown beard.
"Well?" He asked. "Hurry up and move!" I looked around for Annabeth and Percy, but they weren't there. I saw them beginning to run down the track. Normally, that was me next to her. I'd be the one talking to her and joking, exchanging thoughts and gossip.
