Chapter 17 - Behold the king of sass!

Percy POV.-

Watching the kids filled me with a mixture of awesome and annoyance.

Relief spread through me when Lexxy, Alex and Morgan came out of the pit. Their faces were red as if they had been crying. I watched as they hugged Melody and Chuck, and then, interrogated them for around ten minutes.

Yes, they were on their first quest but they were processing so slowly. For the first time, I felt thankful for the time limits in my own quests.

GET THE STRING BEFORE LUKE DOES.

GET NICO BEFORE HE RUNS OUT OF PROMOGRANATE SEEDS.

FIND DAEDALUS FASTTTTTTT.

Oh, the children didn't realise how lucky they are. But that didn't excuse the hours they spend chit chatting. I couldn't listen to their argument but I did know that Chuck and Melody had kept their promise and had not told them about me.

I quickly ate one of the 'make-your-way-in' bars that the Hecate cabin had made for the Stoll brothers to earsdrop on everyone.

Their voices became clearer.

"-old on!" Lexxy said, her voice cracking and her head clearly not in the conversation. "Le- Let's just... rest for the night."

"I agree," Melody laid her opinion.

"But I don't!" Morgan protested. "We should try to find clues for the next karsyn."

I sighed, "Job well done." As soon as I said that, the line got cut and I could no longer hear the kids. Maybe just keep an eye on them.

They walked outside the cave and booked a hotel with one of Morgan's cards.

After watching them settle in, I bought some sugar cubes from a shop. Then, I swept into an alley.

'Sup boss! About time, I smiled after hearing his voice. You got any sugar cubes?

"Of course," I took out the bag of cubes. "How could I forget about them, Blackjack."

Thanks boss, He grinned happily. At least, I think he did. You can never know with horses. Now, let's get out of here... Smells like dead mice and baked dogs having a night off.

"How would you know how they smell?" I questioned. "Nevermind, let's get out of her-"

Pain swept through my head. Blackjack jumped and nieghed. Boss!! You okay?

I tried to answer but was cut short when something hit my head - HARD - And I swept into oblivion.
